I buy regular crocs -- I've not tried any of the "new" ones. And except for dress up on Sunday that is all I wear!

I have an old pair that I'll wear out in the garden when it's wet. If not wet then I usually wear sketchers or occasionally sandals. Sketchers are by far the most comfortable and light weight shoe I've ever owned.

I love my Crocs.....that's all I wear gardening! I have two pair - a 'summer' pair - lime green - with the normal holes and vents and a 'winter' pair that are flannel lined. One of the few pairs of footwear I can tolerate for all day use. I am always barefoot in the house :-)

Hahaha LoneJack, I've just now realized that you're female. I had no idea.

I've got holes in the sole of my crocs. I need to buy another pair, so handy just to slip on when I'm running outside. But they're also more cushiony than some of my other shoes, which I need.

I haven't seen any for a while, I'm not sure if I can even buy them anymore.

I order online. They will have great sales around the 4th and also Labor Day. That is when I stock up. I probably have 20 pair, that is all I wear unless I really have to dress up.

I have six pair in all colors and wear them in the garden.

I did own those, but rarely wore them. I did get into the more stylish ones, but I am finding that they are not as comfortable as they once were.

Here are two:

I only wear them if it's wet outside and have a pair with no holes for that. I don't like to wear them very much because they make my PF flare up.

I also love my crocs but the last couple of pairs were just not as comfortable or as soft as the ones I had but when you can feel every piece of dirt in your garden it is time for something new. I have not seen this type of bottom before do am wondering if it was sold in a country other than the US or if it is one of the ones they used to sell for diabetics. The extra what appears to be an insert in both the top and bottom of the shoe rather than being one piece is why I am thinking diabetic wear. No longer on their site.

Earlier this month I was in Hawaii and across the street from my hotel in Honolulu was a Crocs store.

Just me but I find if I leave the strap on the top as shown in the pictures it tightens that portion of the shoe. I have problems with a high instep but if I lower it so that it is across the back of my ankle the top will conform better to my stride.

Never wore them because they don’t fit my feet right, and they provide no support where I need it.

These crocs are crazy, it's like your walking on 2 balls and you wobble from side to side. I hope I can get some use out of them. I still haven't found any online like them. The green insole doesn't come out.

Jasdip, You can buy them on eBay much cheaper. The website isn't that bad in price either.

It sounds like those were supposed to compete with the Skechers walking shoes.

I love my Crocs. I have one pair that's really old and smooth on the bottom. I have to be very careful walking on the garage floor if it's wet because they are very slippery. I also have a pair of that doesn't have holes that I really like wearing with wool socks in the winter.

I also enjoy them because my sister absolutely hates them. She thinks they're the ugliest things ever made and won't be in my company if I'm wearing them. LOL!

I have 4 pair. 3 of the "regular kind" but in different colors were made in Mexico. The 4th pair is a little fancier and it was made in Vietnam. I see yours were made in China. I wonder if that is the different. I got mine in a Crocs store about an hour away from my house.

Through the years and various pairs I have found that each manufacturer that makes them for Crocs seem to use a slightly different mold. The ones that used to be made in Honduras were wonderful but the one made in the Philippines rubbed and were uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. Also sometimes the material that is used is harder than I like. Mine became like aok's and I finally had to discard them. Currently have a bright yellow pair with green basketball shoe stripes that while they are fine they have not molded to my feet.

girlnamedgale, you can even wear them to dress up. I don't have any (I'm a Dansko fan) but many I know wear them. My SIL bought a pair in dressy silver and wore them with an evening pantsuit to rehearsal dinner last month...she was mother of the groom.

morz8, thanks, yes my daughter wore a pair of crocs heels to a wedding that we recently attended. I have a very comfortable pair of black wedges that I usually can wear but if that changes I will be looking at the crocs for dress shoes. I prefer flip flops or clogs. LOL. It really is because I cannot wear shoes with a closed heal. That is for another thread.

Yes they are so so comfortable. Have quite a few pairs of the clogs and in the summer I wear the crocs Athens flip flops. I can even wear them for 12 hours at Disney World. I find any other styles of crocs not as comfortable

I'm on my second pair, the ones with about 13 holes, wear them quite a lot in summer, including gardening, but don't like walking on gravel - tendency to pick up pebbles.

Usually wear strap over top for easy slipping on, but think that feet are shrinking, as they have been tending to slide off in recent months.

I've seen them fairly frequently in Giant Tiger, Jasdip - 6 bucks last year, I think 7, this year.

I wear Croc knock offs. I think I paid $6 for these and have had them for a few years, very comfortable.

joyfulguy, I will give you fair warning that it is time to find another pair if your current ones are picking up stones on the bottom. That means the outside surface has worn off and the can slip very easily on a wet surface even grass. Doing the splits or falling can be very painful or a trip to the hospital. Since you live by yourself with few close neighbors to see you on the ground please give them up and get a new pair.

The pebbles in question that cause substantial, even though infrequent, complaints from the bottom of my foot are the ones that get into the croc and sit between the inside sole of the shoe and the sole of my foot, that they claim to be very troublesome.

That said, the ribs are getting substantially worn down, so I think it wise to follow your suggestion of treading carefully on concrete: there isn't much around here except in the barn, that seldom gets wet. But there is grass, and a couple of minor slips have taught me to travel there with care. Usually wear rubber boots, reasonably good tread, when grass wet.

Freezing rain, then snow caused me a major, unannounced kerplunk last winter, resulting in some discomfort to the left hip bone, apparent only when I rubbed it, for a few days. Another lesson in the ongoing education of the need to be careful.

And, I'm pretty sure that my phone wasn't within reach at the time.

I have a pair that I keep by the back door for quick trips to the trash can or compost pile and so forth, but they are not supportive or comfortable enough to wear for gardening or any other time.

Joanne...I'm glad you found out what they were....I had no idea. They wobble? Not a stable sole. I wouldn't like that. I too hope you can get some wear out of them.

I purchased my old pair 20 years ago. You see people wearing fuzzy socks with them here in Colorado.

Jasdip - hahaha! I'm not female unless someone gave me a sex change when I wasn't looking. Not sure what gave you that impression from my post.

Joyfulguy - Picking up rocks in the tread of my sketchers is a issue too. I have a gravel driveway that I have to walk about 100 yards down to get to my garden. When I get back to my house I always have to pluck pebbles out of the tread when needle nose pliers. The next pair I buy will have a different style tread.

When I bought a pair of rubber shoes once, I found that there are a ton of other brands besides Crocs. I found them at a nursing supply store on line. The Croc shoes is really too wide for my foot, you can find other brands that are better than Crocs and not so wide either. If you have a store that sells nurse/medical uniforms, you can check out what fits and either buy them there but I didn't want white so I bought them on line.

I am still trying to get the odor out of mine. They reek of a heavy smoker. I've had them in lavender cat litter for a few days. I hope I can wear them.

Knock-offs are great if you can find ones that fit and the little nibs aren't really hard/sharp. I have bought crocs I could not wear because of those nibs being too hard. I will only buy the ones made in China, all others are way too hard.

The shoes that I am talking about are not what I would call "knock offs". They are name brand shoes that are rubber mules and a whole lot better than Crocs, if you ask me. They aren't cheap either. For me, they fit much better than a Croc because my foot is sort of narrow and Crocs are very wide. I'm not sure why they didn't ever make them for people with narrower feet. Not everyone has a square foot...LOL!
