Carol, Well you know I noticed that last night for the first time and was going to try it, but I'm so adept (now) at posting pictures that I decided not to try..so I am going to try right now..lets see what I come up with..hold on, I'm going to peruse through my 7000 pictures... Ok, it only let me post one and when I tried another it removed the first picture and substituted the second one..so here is the first picture anyway... Welcome, Pamela and Terri. NO PLANYS TO TRADE = NO PROBLEM! That is how a kot of us got our gardens started. You will find that gardeners are the most generous and kind people you can associate with and be lucky to have as friends. I go out into my garden and as I spend time with plants I remember the people who gave them to me. Fawnridge AKA Ricky has a corner in my yard dedicated to him. I even have a placque that says Ricky's corner. It is where the majority of my crotons are planted. I have a corner dedicated to Lisa and also various other corners where I have planted all the edibles that she has so generously shared with me. I hate leaving people out but almost every person on this site has shared something with me and hopefully in the upcoming swaps I will have things to share with them. Gardening comes from my father's side of the family and when I was borh I had two green thumbs. I received a shovel for my first birthday and have been a roto tiller ever since. I love hand digging and turning the soil over and over in my hands. I love feeling it flow through my fingers and seeing the tiny seeds sprout and develop into beautiful plants. I even feel pain when one dies and I have killed my share. You will find great advice here and if you desire to get into tomato farming then Treefrog will be your best buddy and does he have seeds to share. Terri, as long as you have had your rabies shot you have nothing to fear here. If someone bites it is usually painful for only a second and then they place salve on the bite and give you advice. Rachel ~ It is 'so hard' to get rid of things! We still have a long way to go to be really 'decluttered' but it's an ongoing project that happens little by little. Kimberly ~ What a change your home has gone through, and I haven't even seen any pictures yet. From biker pad to a home filled with love, happiness, family and critters. We started calling our home Plum Cottage a couple of years ago after we painted it. The guy who had mixed up our paint called it part of our last name and the word plum, so Plum Cottage it is. I can certainly understand Leaning Pines due to hurricanes. We had one come down last year during Wilma right into our 8'x10' shed. After DH cut the whole top of tree off trunk, the trunk rose out of the shed. We now have a leaning pine trunk as a reminder. We may cut it down the rest of the way once we get our chain saw back from the repair shop. I like your name too, just not the reason for naming your place that. FL lost a lot trees in the last two years, we lost three pines and our beautiful melaleuca is only a fraction of what it used to be. I used to be embarrassed about living in such a small place, especially in the well-to-do county that we live in but all that changed a few years ago when I realized what we have is a little jewel. I had picked up Mary Emmerling's book of American Cottages and it changed my whole attitude. I am thankful for our little place, no mortgage, cheap to heat and cool. Since then, I've grown to really love our little place and we are working at making it our haven from the crazy world that we live in. I don't know what it is- if it's the white background or what- but I don't feel like I know where the he ... I am. I still don't know how to find the conversation side and I did read the instructions and don't usually feel stupid. I am literate and the only way I can find anything is to put it in the search bar. I really am trying but less and less. I will probably keep checking in here but it won't be my regular path on the web. If it aint broke................ :(
