need help with vintage corner wall mount sink...
Comments (4)Thanks bbstx. That's a gorgeous faucet...I actually had it with a vessel sink in the bathroom of my previous home. Unfortunately a bridge faucet won't work here, because the holes for the hot and cold water taps are on either side of the corner backsplash. In principle, it seems like a standard widespread set OUGHT to work, provided there's flexibility in where each component is placed and the handles can be installed on the vertical backsplash instead of the horizontal deck. But I suppose I may have to buy one to see. I'be been trying to find a picture of a similar sink to illustrate, and so far can't....See Moreneed help with sewing around corners
Comments (3)Check your top tension. It might be too tight if the fabric is bunching. The stitching should meet in the middle of the fabric but not be so tight it pulls. Loosen the tension a tiny bit and sew on a scrap, then loosen again and test it out. If the thread loops on top or bottom then turn it back. Once you get the tension right it should sew better. Sewing with a slippery fabric is challenging if you are a beginner. You might be better to hand baste with large stitches before you sew. Or pin it well every inch or so all around. Cotton makes a good lining too and is much easier to sew than lining material. When you get to the corner go slow. Put your hands on the material--one hand flat and one on the edge and slowly turn your fabric as you sew. Or Take a couple of stitches then turn slightly, and take a couple more and continue until the corner is sewn. Again practice on fabric scraps until you get it right...See MoreNeed help for leaking roof corners front porch
Comments (5)I may be able to post a photo. Briefly, I can see what the issue is from the ground. It is that the gutter takes a right angle turn (toward the front/street) along the 4' porch roof and ends against the front trim board (this white board trims the front of the peaked roof). It is just a small porch covered by a peaked roof. On both sides, the gutters run to the front of the porch and end against the trim board. There is nowhere for the water to go but leak to the ground through the crack there. So the trim board's paint is peeling and suffereing from so much water running against it. It seems that something is missing or the gravity is not taking the water to the end of the house down spout. I thought the roofers would take care of replacing any misplaced gutter or down spouts as part of the finished job. I do know who the contractor is but it has been 4 years, however, I remember there was a long guarantee period of time. It was a larger company recommended by the insurance company. I will see if I can post a photo. Thank you....See Moreneed help adding corner porch with hip roof gable
