Yay! Yes, I went and what a great time. Just love going and seeing all of roses at a cheaper price. Only wish that I had gone first thing this morning for better selection. Oh, and I can never get out of there without buying a couple at regular price. I bought an Austin, Happy Child to place in a container and the Impressionist which I was most excited about. This is their top selling Clements rose and it is much like an Austin, fragrant and gorgeous. Didn't think that it would be in the 1/2 offers. My husband came with me and he was trying to be Mister Macho telling me that he didn't really have much input about the rose garden (when we arrived there were more women there). . .blah, blah, blah--when all of sudden he spots a beautiful Eden (Pierre de Ronsard) growing on an archway. Next thing I know he's in the rose house picking the best one he could find at full price. It is a beautiful rose, so much more attractive than its pictures. One thing that I didn't know about Heirloom is that they have a lot more roses for sale than are in their catalog. I have been researching roses that do well in rain and someone told me about Rosarium Uetersen and I hadn't been able to locate it. Heirloom had some!! Have to go back and really go through everything -- take my time. Then I'll be even more broke and have to find more room in my garden for roses. CJ

I spent a good hour drooling over this sale and had at least a dozen "must have" roses from this listing before I noticed a small statement at the top of the page. Apparently they only want orders where they can ship the roses immediately (including the line "regardless of zone"), not with the potential for ordering now for spring shipment. I understand the logic, since companies want to clear out summer stock in preparation for new plants for next summer, but for those of us in cold zones it really counts us out. I might be able to handle planting a gallon size rose in July, but a band size rose in August has very little chance of surviving my winters in my experience without enough chance to build a good root structure. I'd love to hear if this line is in error, but I since I've never seen that line on an Heirloom page I think it's not subject to negotiation. I'll have to hang onto my list and check back later this fall/winter to make my order for next spring. Regardless, for those of you in warmer zones there are some absolutely terrific roses for sale, many of whom are down to $8.50. Cynthia

Let's tell what we got at the sale. I got Miss All American Beauty, St. Patrick, Sweet Surrender, Colorific, Tahitian Sunset, Tuscan Sun, Gentle Giant( I normally like fragrant but couldn't believe the size of the bud- I was dreaming of have a whole vase full), Mrs. B. R. Cant - where I will plant that one I have no idea since it gets so large, but the fragrance when I walked by it..... And I got one other that I don't know the name and it is staying at Cools for a little while because Geoff wanted to make more grafts from it due to it is almost out of circulation and doesn't want it to be come a goner..... He said he could come and get cuttings from me, but then there would be to much pressure and I could see my black thumb rising...... I didn't want the be the reason a rose became extinct. I heard some of you got some Austins, I must have skipped that area. I did see Geoff is grafting some and there will be some later on. Hope everyone had a good day at the sale.! Share your beauties.

Hi All, Anyone who's in the South Florida area may be interested to know that Cool Roses is hosting their annual Rose Sale this Saturday, July 1st. They have gallon roses for $5!
