Trip to Fox Hosta Farm
Comments (33)It is Lowell IN and it is pretty easy to get there. I was there yesterday and came home with some real beauties. Highly recommend if you in the area, not only because his prices reasonable and variety great. I told Bob he would get much more if he was selling on line. You see real size and how it is growing in shade and you will get whatever chunk you want. Additionally Bob sells his own seedlings and some of them are monsters. Comments (14)I have not seen that meme, too funny. A jar like that could pay for next year's Hosta. So sad about Wade & Gatton's - perhaps I'm overcompensating. I only have 0.5 acres. I think I'm maxing out on space this year. I had to get a little creative removing some lawn, some tall grass (right over the gas line) and making a little retaining wall so I can plant in spin out bags around Maple trees. I'm done trying to dig in that ground around all the rocks and roots. I strained my back a bit trying to get it all done and I'm not finished yet. Going to hire some manual labor to help out. Guess retirement will have to wait while I pay for all these trips and labor. I've discovered a nearby burning bush (tree) has roots invading one of my Hosta beds. Time for it to go too. Thinking about putting in a tricolor beech since it is fairly shady there. If only I could do some of this in winter, I wouldn't be killing myself in spring....See MoreMy new hosta Drinking Wu

Comments (46)Newhostalady, I love that ruffled edge of the leaf! I agree about the color of High Society’s leaves. Your Hudson Bay looks like it will get huge based on the size of the largest leaf. beverlymnz4, the leaves on Heart Song are so perfectly heart shaped, I am sure that’s how it got it’s name. Your little Hudson Bay is really soft and lovely. It is so interesting to see the mature plant in the post above compared to yours. It reminds me once again how different young hostas look from mature ones....See Morenicholsworth Z6 Indianapolis
