Bosch refrigerator to get bundle discount?
Comments (3)I would get the Bosch built-in and that discount. IMO Liebherr makes the best compressors but both the Bosch and Liebherr FD are almost identical in energy use. Liebherr bio-fresh safes/crispers are among the very best with Sub-Zero maybe a little better. Everybody has similar technology I just think Liebherr and SZ do it better. But Bosch is not way behind here. As you have seen Liebherr bins, drawers, hinges are only mediocre.Bosch is much better here. Bosch sells their built-ins by selling "German Engineering" not "Made in Germany" label. They make the most critical electronic components in Germany and Austria with the remainder in Turkey. Some people freak out after spending so much money that their fridge is not made in Germany but Turkey. I own a made in Germany Liebherr All-Fridge and a Gaggenau freezer made in that very same Bosch factory in Turkey. If you don't mind the made in Turkey label,I would get the Bosch and that discount....See MoreAnother Window Choice Thread
Comments (21)Hoping you don't mind me jumping on this thread as were kind of in the same boat. We're in eastern ontario and need 13 windows: 11 double hung windows at roughly 30"w x 70"h with 4/4 sdl and a casement (29x58) and awning (30x20), both without sdl. So far we've looked at Lepage and Marvin and a couple vinyl options but while the price is more than half, we're thinking we'll regret vinyl down the road. We have an 1880s gothic revival 'style' brick cottage that had siding all over it. We're currently restoring the brick and the original wood windows need replacing. We have the following prices so far: Lepage aluminum clad: $22,944.00 + HST installed Marvin aluminum clad: $20,375.82 + HST NOT INSTALLED Marvin integrity (all fibreglass): $9,750.44 + HST NOT INSTALLED ( doesn't have sdl just gbg) I've asked for a quote on Marvins wood-ultrex hybrid (assuming it'll come between the two above), we have Pella coming out this week and we've made a request for Loewen but I'm guessing they'll be out of our budget. Any thoughts on the fibreglass or fibreglass/hybrid option? And any idea what installation will run if we go with marvin? is full service company a better bet?...See MoreBlizzard-induced analysis paralysis re: window seat fabric
Comments (16)Thank you all! @busybee3, you're exactly right - the swatches do feel like little paint chips - the more I look, the more indecisive I feel! I have tried amateur photoshopping to see how any of the options would look but it's hasn't helped me make up my mind. That's presumably because as you all have pointed out, neither of the finalists are quite right. I've got a swatch that matches the couch perfectly (Sunbrella Heritage Mink). However, it's feels like a canvas-type Sunbrella, and I was hoping for something with some texture. Off to order a whole raft of new swatches - luckily our snow emergency has extended another day so more time to ponder!...See MoreBuilt In Coffee Maker - Thermador vs Miele Thoughts
Comments (70)We have an old Miele cva 615 from around 2007. Machine has done well over 10,000 coffees (99% espresso) over that time period (it has a little counter in one of the submenus). Around 10 years in the pressure pump went out, but this is actually a very easy replacement you can do yourself with a $30 part you can get on Amazon. There are videos online to show you how. Have had no other problems. My machine has always made excellent coffee, and I prefer it to all but a few coffee shops I have run into overseas over the years. It's coffee snob level coffee to be sure. The only other machines I have experience with are a Wolf built in unit and a Breville counter top unit. Both made good coffee but I still prefer the Miele. Matter of personal taste of course, but I can say more objectively that the crema on the Miele is a tighter, richer, more consistent foam compared to the others I have seen. Excellent aroma and flavor. Not sure if it's better pressure or plumbing or the way the machine packs the plug after grinding-- but the end result is just plain delicious. My wife and I are building a new house and a new Miele unit is a must for us. We're putting it in a wet bar area off the kitchen. TT...See Moreshanphx
