I have a potential 5th bedroom upstairs but it has a center beam in the floor that sticks up ab 3”. It runs right through the center of the room. My thoughts where to just build the floor up even or higher than the center beam, resubfloor. Downfall is having a step up into the room, but with the living area being under that room I can’t out a beam downstairs. Just want to make sure there isn’t a more simple way then what I’m thinking.
