New House looks like a cave...Please help w exterior paint color?
Comments (3)A lighter color would look nice. I would try to match the stone work in front, or at least doesn't clash with it..Color??I went with a beige, isn't everybody. One color I was leaning towards was graige (not sure of the spelling Sherwin Williams carries it), a cross between gray and beige....See MoreWeekend/Lake House - Please help with exterior paint
Comments (16)Great suggestions - I will look at those this week when we go paint picking. One thing I forgot to mention is that the roof is green metal. I know... that's a BIG thing. That will probably make green a no-go? It's more of a faded dusty green - not mossy or sagey. You can see the green astro turf on the porch that looks pretty accurate for comparison. So, the things we're forced to work with are: green roof, white siding on the eaves and porch & probably black casement windows. We are painting a small bank of windows black this morning as a test. Another thing we thought about is that the interior panes are already black so if we do get a little outside the lines, it won't be a glaring mistake like it is now with the white on the outside. Also, we do have black vintage porch furniture that will serve as an accent. Pardon the mess on the porch - it's a work day around here! Comments (9)Yes, that is a very peachy orange color. I first thought neutral bone/beige but your photo with the lower stone section seems to have a lot of red tones, even in the darker brick. I'm no expert so i would be relying on sample cards, in various tones, and taping them against the brick to view. Some might obviously not work but those that do might be worth a sample pot painted onto large sheets and go through the process again......See Morechloebud
