Suggestions on Exterior Paint/Stain Color

Need suggestions on cedar shake color, shudders and door. Do we use solid stain or paint on shingles? Considering painting the brick to match shingles...thoughts?

You will need to remove the shutters for painting anyway so why not see how you like it without them. I would not paint the brick IMO it always lessens the value of a home.I like sage greens or grayed greens with brick and I think you could go quite a dark shade of that on the shingles.Then maybe beef up the trim insted of the shutters

We have only a little natural wood on the exterior as we made our house as maintenance free as possible. We have a mahogany exterior door and everyone told us to use sikkens as it is such a good weather proofer. We're very happy with the results.

I like the creamy above. Should look really good on your house. Ivory white seems to have a bit of green tone to it on my monitor. It is pretty, and maybe you would like a paint that may show a bit of green. In that case, either should look good on your house. I am very happy you are keeping the brick. It does add character to your very pretty house.

It's a great house. These 'shed' houses look best to me monochromatic- I would paint everything (except the stone) Sherwin Williams Black Fox or Urbane Bronze. When you can afford it the deck handrails could use updating ( I would replace some sections with stadium stairs and others with glass). Otherwise punch up the landscaping a bit and you are good to go. The pine next to the house is so pretty, I don't love the cedar between the garage and the entrance, it looks like it is in the way?

Nope.......we've got to see the total house because the style of home, roof, windows & other materials all have an effect on the colors selected. We want to see the whole front of the home standing back from it.

I would use stain on the shingles, rather than paint. I also would not paint the brick. Your picture wouldnt enlarge to get a good view of your house.
