I was in a similar situation. I applaud your effort, because it's not easy rotating those trays when they're full. I have a Worm Factory (pretty much the same thing as the VermiHut) and my biggest disappointment is not being able to compost all of our waste in the worm bin. What you've done is expand the working area of the VermiHut from a single tray to four trays. There's nothing wrong with this as long as you realize you're using the system in a different way than what was intended. One downside, as you discovered, is that it's hard work. It sounds like you really need more bins. You can purchase more VermiHut systems, or you could go a much cheaper route and try single or double Rubbermaid bin systems. My kitchen remodel is a hodge podge. The new cabinets that were just built were made to flow with a pantry we had built over three years ago. That cabinet is 24 inches, top to bottom. When we had our island made last fall, we bought a counter-depth refrigerator to give us more room between the island and fridge. I LOVE that my refrigerator isn't sticking out in the kitchen so much anymore. Anyway, when we did new cabinets in December, I opted NOT to have a cabinet built over the refrigerator. I really don't like those deep cabinet so high because they just become black holes. So, my solution is to put a thick shelf over the refrigerator, bridging the two cabinets. There will be two different groove on it, at different depths, so I can just rest pictures against the wall and they catch in the groove. I will also put a tall vase and maybe a plant. Underneath I will likely put a few shallow baskets. Our carpenter is making the shelf now. Once it's in and I have some pics/accessories up there (and like it LOL), I'll share pics on here. Good luck finding your solution. Hopefully you'll get some good ideas from responses here.

Thank you, that is a great suggestion. There isn't enough flooring in the kitchen to do that--some of the cabinets will be oriented so that all the pieces of flooring under them would be very short. But I hadn't thought about closets. We have three bedroom closets with heart pine. I'm just not sure I want to rip up flooring from all over the house to solve this problem. The other issue is that there is nothing underneath the plywood. It is installed flush with the hardwood flooring, probably because they then covered the whole thing with another layer of plywood underlayment, followed by sheet vinyl. I'm kind of tempted do something like that again, although it would be a shame to cover up all that wood.

what cabinet line is it..is there something unique? you should be able to get a cabinet frame somewhere else..then get a door frame either mdf to paint [ or ]... what is your species??? then insert seeded glass...... [note in above picture to the right is seeded glass] ....... Above the hood location is logical spot to have a different door. I've seen the low profile microwave installed in a display. I think its got positives...its really much more minimal look [sleek and attractive] and a different door above would be logical. what is your door style??
