What is your favorite brand of W&D, and why?
Comments (9)I have the Wave Touch 70 series and while I don't know exactly what "Gentle Tumble" is, I can tell you that I absolutely love the Perfect Tumble feature on the dryer. It reverse tumbles the load and makes sure it's not tangled up when you remove it. I also like the extended tumble feature, which tumbles the load with cool air until you take it out. This feature is adjustable, so I can make it tumble for up to three hours after it's done drying. This allows me to take the laundry out and fold it when it's convenient for me. If I wait till the load is fully cooled and has tumbled a bit, it doesn't get wrinkled in the basket while I'm folding. With my old dryer, I'd dash to the dryer as soon as it went off, and it would take some fancy maneuvering to make sure that things didn't get wrinkled in the basket. A feature I like very much in the washer is the shrink guard. It tumbles the load after the last spin, fluffing it up a bit. I have fewer wrinkles in the laundry with the new pair. As to the number of cycles, I admit freely that it's a ridiculous number. However, you have options within those cycles, and that means that I can get this washer to do pretty much anything I want it to. I don't use all of the cycles, but I can tweak the cycles I do use to my satisfaction, and I like that very much. I've had this pair for almost a year and a half, and so far I'm very happy with them. The push to open door has not been annoying, as I'd feared it might be. :-) Cj Updated to insert a missing sentence, so the first paragraph makes sense now. Sorry! Comments (7)I don't have a paneled DW, yet. All my pulls are Aubrey, even on my paneled 30" warming drawer. (We're replacing the panel with a Shaker panel as DH doesn't like how our cab maker made the one you see.) No, it's not the same as a DW. I don't have any problem with it. Nor do I have any issues with the screws on my very heavy 36" pots/pans drawers that I use multiple times a day. My cab maker wasn't concerned at all about the screws coming out. Something to take into consideration is the projection of the Aubrey at about 1.25". It's fine for all of my cabs and my WD, but I'd have to do some thinking if it would work on a DW. I can get my hand inside the pull without effort; however, I sometimes open my DW with a wet or even with a couple of slightly fingers that I try to keep away from the stainless. I'm not sure I'd want a tight projection on a wood-covered (and possibly white if your cabs are painted like mine) panel. There are some fine appliance pulls on the market. I linked one below that I think is pretty. It's projection is 2 5/16". Schaub is another popular and well-respected hardware co with nice appliance pulls. Oh, and I don't think you need to have the exposed screws on the DW pull just because your cup pulls have exposed screws. The pull will already be different than your cab pulls. As long as the finish and the overall style is consistent, I wouldn't worry. Here is a link that might be useful: One pretty appliance pull...See MoreWhat is your opinion on pocket doors?
Comments (28)We have three: a solid double door (doors close in the middle of the entryway) leading to our master bath, a glass paned double that sections my pocket office off from the eat-in kitchen, and a solid single hung in my daughter's hollywood bathroom to avoid collisions with the door to her shower area. No problems so far. Ours were framed in, then beams were added at regular spacing so hanging things is no more of an issue that it would be anywhere else... at least in terms of the wall being hollow/not hollow....See MorePantry Pocket Door Pull Choices - Your Thoughts?
Comments (12)Eam - I wandered off to look at other sellers, and found enduring's gorgeous pocket door with Sugatsune edge pull. For our current pocket door, I am very much used to no moving parts. Finish is stainless steel (satin). I love this but also want the pull to match the handle finish Decision made! I culled the finalists and ended up with three oval heights: 4.5, 5.9, and 7". I think I like the shortest best and have ordered it and the 7" in Polished Chrome, which matches my other hardware. Thanks all!...See Moregirl_wonder
