Comments (18)I'm another S.Ca gal,Oceanside to be exact.I have never gone on the quilt run,but since i worked in a quilt store i always got to see a lot of the "Runners". We also used to have a caravan of ladies come down to san diego cnty from orange county once a year to shop. They would let us know in advance when they were coming and we'd open the store early that day(usually a saturday. Then we always had coffee, tea juice, donuts etc for them to munch on .They would try to hit all the quilt stores in S.D.Cnty ending at Rosies .Then if they had any money left they'd stop back by and spend more with us,on their way back home. What a fun day that was. Comments (4)Hi Vivian, I'm sorry that you're having an issue, but I'm not sure that I understand what you mean when you say your email address is showing as your user name. What I see is vivians2932. This is the name that you used to sign in and it's also the name that is showing as your 'display name'. If you wish to change the way that your name displays (the name that others will see on your posts), you can change that by going into your account settings. Click on 'Your Houzz' in the top corner of the page and then choose 'Edit Profile'. Look for 'First Name (publicly displayed) - you can then change it to whatever you'd like. Remember that you will still use vivians2932 to sign in. If you want to use a different account to sign in, let me know. If at any time you have a question or issue, please contact us at gardenweb @ houzz.com or you can contact me directly at tamara.amey @ houzz.com....See MoreOT- User Name/Screen Name

Comments (52)dreaming, I think your story just tapped into a collective "rage" about the loss of a formerly very comfortable, friendly, helpful forum, populated by people interested in decorating. Some pros, lots of non-pros with experience and passion, who tried to help posters with their (our) decorating problems. We were formerly Garden Web and many of us are clinging to our identity as members of that formerly wonderful forum, that has now been morphed into a houzz/GW hybrid. Now we find our forum taken over by some very pushy pros trying to push their businesses, sell their goods or sometimes just be rude and snarky. To be fair, there are a few who don't do that and have added a lot to the forum. There are now so many posts asking for help, and so many responding, that there is no way to retain the kind of community feeling that used to draw many of us back here. So, reading about a poster being treated so rudely, or anyone even caring about a user name in our formerly little semi-hidden forum, maybe just was kind of the last straw for some of us. Anyway, glad you're not upset about it!...See Moremae (zone 5b On)
