Amy, I don't think that you should be the one to change your forum name since you were here first. I think the new person might want to consider changing hers though to avoid any mix ups. Colleen

I'm glad you mentioned this. I am also fairly new here and I think I would have been confused as to who was whom!

Laura, perhaps I should have followed your lead in chosing a user name! I'm in the Los Angeles area, but San Diego isn't too far and I go down there a few times a year (especially for a convention in July). I am looking forward to checking out more of the quilt shops down there! Are you thinking about doing the SoCal quilt run in July? I am thinking of making a road trip out of it, going out to Palm Springs the night before and heading back, doing my locals and maybe doing another weekend around SD/OC. We have some nice quilt shops up here if you do the run maybe we could carpool! --Amy

Amy, I did not know about the quilting run -- it sounds fun but unfortunately July is way overbooked for me already.

People often post on here when quilting events come up in their area -- so who knows, maybe a few of us will end up at the same event some day and can meet!

I'm another S.Ca gal,Oceanside to be exact.I have never gone on the quilt run,but since i worked in a quilt store i always got to see a lot of the "Runners".

We also used to have a caravan of ladies come down to san diego cnty from orange county once a year to shop.They would let us know in advance when they were coming and we'd open the store early that day(usually a saturday.Then we always had coffee,tea juice,donuts etc for them to munch on .They would try to hit all the quilt stores in S.D.Cnty ending at Rosies .Then if they had any money left they'd stop back by and spend more with us,on their way back home.What a fun day that was.

LOL, Kathi, it must have been one of those groups I ran into one day at Rosie's. Was that store ever busy! I commented on how popular the store had become, and someone told me it was a not regular customers, but a busload of quilters on a visit, but I didn't connect that with a "quilt run".

On Ebay I'm..... wait for it......PATCHNINJA! HA! I wonder if I shouldn't have used that here as no-one can say my name LOL
We'll all just settle down and get used to new names.
