Lynxe, I'm not willing to go overboard becaues I've found that the prices always go down with availability. I'm just looking around right now, and really wanting a blue=ish daylily. I really like the lighter shades shown in the photo above of "buyorsell888." I'm finding it on the 'net for $12, but wondering if I should wait and see if I can find a better one. I'm drooling over "Another Day in Paradise" and "Master of Disguise" (see Blue Ridge Daylilies 2011) -- neither of which is a real blue, but with gorgeous blue markings. I'm thinking I might be able to afford them after about ten years, LOL.

I thought there had been discussion on this before? Picea pungens glauca 'Baby Blue Eyes' comes from Verl Holden of Holden Wholesale Growers, Silverton, Oregon. Named for Verl's nickname for his first wife. Verl is still around, active, and has a very long-standing relationship with the hort dept at OSU. OSU's database of trees on campus says "Discovered in 1972 as a chance seedling growing in a cultivated group of grafted Picea pungens 'Moerheimi' by Verl Holden in his nursery in Silverton, Oregon (Plant Patent 5,457)" I did notice that OSU has a typo, 'Blueeyes" that may well have contributed to the confusion. However, may I suggest that you satisfy your curiosity and then correct the ACS database by giving the originator a call? He's a wonderful person and a real wealth of information.

Just better and better. I know that you need to test your babies in the hot humid weather of the South. I also know that NE MS would be a wonderful place for these tests. We have atleast 4-6 wks of good winter weather. We have atleast 6 months of 85-100 degree weather and just a few of those glorious days that we call Fall and Spring. You don't even want to know about our humidity, so, with all of these different kinds of weather, this would be such a good place to test your Northern grown plants. I'll be really big hearted and even pay the S&H to get your babies down here. NOw, when would you like to ship these out??? OK, can't blame a person for trying, can you?
