The pictures are limited, but I would suggest putting the tv on the wall by the hallway opening and orienting the couch/seating area that way, with back to kitchen. Next, move the little desk to the alcove where you have your dining table, and make the area behind the couch to the wall beside the kitchen be your dining area, with a defining rug for each of the two areas. Move the two bookcases together and use them as a china hutch (or continue to use for books and display). That makes the sliding doors be a part of the living room area and fills the empty space better., eliminating the "bowling alley" effect. Once you do that, I think you'll see how much space you have in order to decide how to handle the tv components, and you'll be able to measure for couch style and coffee table..

I would leave the TV where it is, but lower it and put a long console underneath it, at minimum 25% wider than the TV. Center of screen should be at eye level and console should be 5 - 8" below that.

The wall next to the hallway appears to be by the entry door, so think about a console there for a drop zone with art above.

Before I go any further with this room, I suggest you start an ideabook for each area of the house. Then go through the millions of photos on Houzz and the internet and save your favorites in them. By the time you have 10 or 12 pictures in each one, you and we will have a much clearer idea of what you want the place to look like.

Oops. My bad. I see that is not the front door, but a slider. I still would not put the TV on that wall because it will create a traffic pattern between it and your seating.

I'm with grover... leave the tv on it's current wall, but lower and over a console. Add a large area rug and that'll help define the space and make it feel less long.

I like the idea of a desk area next to the tall pantry cabinet, but don't love the bookcases there. It seems like a lot of high/low/high/low. I'd go for all lower storage in that desk spot, with some art above.

Acoustically you NEED rugs and drapery panels. They will give you an added plus of adding some color/interest as well as defining spaces.

I also, would lower the TV with a long console. Add 2 small swivel chairs facing each other at right angles to the sofa. Add a sofa table 12"D or less, behind the sofa if there is enough space. Cozy up the seating by adding a colorful area rug at the grouping. I like the bookcases and desk wall. I would just add a large artwork or you can group smaller art pieces above the desk. Repeat colors from art or rug to create cohesiveness and tie the separate areas together.

As for the large wall near the slider, it would be a great wall for Art or collection of photos. I would add a shallow console or shallow cubby unit to hold essentials and provide storage. Probably not more than 40" wide and centered on the wall.

Right now it looks like we would keep your current layout. However we would get a rug for under the sofa, get a longer lower TV console, and perhaps get a new coffee table. Here are a few ideas for you:
