Help on Cabinet Stain Color - Cherry Wood
Comments (4)I also have Brazilian walnut for my flooring and my cabinets are cherry. I will post a pic of my kitchen, but if I were you I would go to a cabinet showroom or a big box retailer that sells cabinets. You might want to act as though you are still in the decision making process. Check out some cherry doors that you like and see what they look like in your house. Take them to a good paint retailer and have a stain custom mixed to match the stain on the door. If you end up picking out a door that has highlighting or glazing, then you may want to get a quote from a finisher. Your cabinet maker must know a good finisher for those customer that don't want to stain their cabinets. My cabinets were finished by the cabinet maker. I have also ordered cabinets from a local guy and that is what I did so I can match my mouldings and other woodwork I need stained. Comments (20)I like two-toned kitchens in general..and I love white plus wood even though I agree with chocolatebunny that on this particular picture the contrast seems a bit harsh, at least to me because of sheer size of the kitchen, I'd like softer transition in such a space..but in any case it is quite beautiful. Whether it'll work or not-the two-toned look- will depend on size, light, as have been mentioned, and more than that-on layout. One needs approximately even amount of lowers and uppers to make the look work, or will indeed feel too chopped Very good point on deciding what color the tall cabinets( pantry, oven, etc) will be -should be well-considered. Great advice from cpartist as usual-always consider everything you plan in the kitchen in general context of your house White/light Quarzt is cool(I have light off-white Quartz myself) and is usually very clean-because you'd be prompted to keep it as such, every crumb, you'll see it, and will be complelled to clean it right away. -be prepared though to see seams when installed. You'll forget about them soon but first time comes as a bit of a shocker even if the seam is actually quite good. You see it like a very thin pale pencil line. "Who drew on my counter?" lol...See MoreHelp, need kitchen paint color! New gray quartz and cherry cabinets
Comments (4)I agree that the wall color is off and would go for something that is more of a soft white with less pink in it. I know there is a pinky beige in your counter but you don't have to bring out all of the countertop tones and I think anything beige is going to clash with the cherry. Our old kitchen had cherry cabinets and Ben Moore maritime white walls. I loved the walls so much, when we got our new kitchen, we had cabinets made in that color....See Morehelp! cherry wood cabinets and black granite in kitchen
Comments (7)hinahaus, if you are getting new countertops, then don't do a backsplash now. just wait. you don't want to spend money on tile now that may limit you w/your counter selection. For now, just paint the wall. Also, when you get your new countertops, do NOT get the 4" backsplash piece up the back. it's either that or tile, not both. m'kay? for your flooring, I'd keep it on the lighter side but tone down the yellow. Something like this would look nice. try a walnut shade. this one is a combo of special walnut/Dark walnut. I believe the right side is two coats. and this wood is red oak....See More- 5 years ago
