Paint Design Dilemma Kitchens

Should my kitchen cabinets match the baseboards/trim and doors?

We are moving until our new home and finished painting kitchen walls accessible beige SW and trim alabaster SW. we weren’t going to paint the cabinets but they really don’t look right. I was thinking of painting the cabinets alabaster because it’s not too white or cold and the baseboards aren’t close to the cabinets (wall is in between). Should I choose another white color for the cabinets or stick with alabaster? Painters want to begin in two days. Thanks!

You should be careful when combining multiple tones of white. Alabaster should be a safe choice.

Its absolutely fine to go with a different door style. A real colonial/early american 19th c. house often has different doorstyles throughout anyway, ranked on whether the room was "public" or "private", first floor or upper floors, or even by importance in the same room.

Absolutely not. You can do whatever you want. The only suggestion would be to match the style of the house. I.e. A super modern white kitchen in a homey cottage would be a bit jarring or if the rest of the house is oak and traditional.

I have a different white for my cabinets and my trim. It's fine as long as the two colors work together. My trim color is slightly creamier and my kitchen cabinets have a slight green tinge to them. You can see the difference by the windows.

I would want them the same color white. Pick the color for your cabinets, and match the paint and redo the trim.

Trim and cabinets don't have to match, but matching whites can be very challenging so it's often a smart choice to use the same color. I'd paint them Alabaster as well, it's a nice color
