I was surprised how little green there was at the top of Roan Mountain since it's all green and lush in Nashville and Johnson City? Elevation was all that was different. Enough different. Chilly even?! This does happen to be a dead tree, but the only green things were the evergreens. Fir on the left/background and Rhododendron on the right. Which aren't even about to bloom. Mid June they say.

Yes that is Vancouver BC and it is called the Lions Gate bridge. It is named for the mountain range called the Lions (also known as the twin sisters in natives language). I'm told that I claimed the Lions mountains as my own since I was a little baby growing up in North Vancouver beneath them. So far no one has disputed my claim. ;-) Of course that must mean I own the Lions Gate bridge as well. ;-) :-)

That is some sort of caterpillar. Not sure which kind. Hoping it was not an asp because those like to sting.
