the former is one of the showier forms of Oxalis, and it's either a life-saver of a groundcover, or a bloody nuisance, depending on what your tastes are. I have a pink-flowering type with green leaves, and the burgundy strain you mentioned, and I find them wonderful company everywhere BUT my succulent bed the second one is a mystery to me, unless the leaves are distinctly fleshy, at which I would say it's 'one of those prostrate sedums' and leave it at that.

Actually, the fruit of Passion Vine is highly edible -- you've just picked it too soon. Another common name for the vine is Wild Apricot, which should give you some idea of the general taste of the ripe fruit. When it's ripe the skin pales to a soft yellow green and the flesh will be quite soft. The ripe seeds inside will be dark. The black bug might be a leaf footed bug. They suck sap, but don't seem to do too much damage in my garden, unlike their relative the squash bug, which pretty much destroys my squash plantings every year. Definitely not Garlic Mustard, it does not spread vegetatively (thank goodness, it's bad enough as it is!!). Definitely not Wild Ginger, at least not the native one. Unfortunately, I don't know what it actually is! Reminds me of some Campanula I saw in another thread, at least that's the best ID they came up with (on Name That Plant). Doesn't it ever flower?
