G&B Raised Bed Outdoor Pot mix

Hello all,

I'm in zone 8b NW of Seattle where it is low 50s at night and low 70s high 60s in dead of summer. I'm moved into a new rental so I'm setting up all my pots outside. I use fabric type pots as I have had success in the past to prevent root rot in our wettish, cool climate, especially with tropicalish plants. My question is....I bought some G&B Raised Bed Outdoor Potting mix and while I like how well it drains, it drains TOO WELL! LOL. Especially with the fabric pots that get rid of PWT, the mix holds little moisture it seems. Has anyone noticed this? I LOVE Blue Ribbon by G&B but I think it's more expensive....I used Blue Ribbon last year and I remember it being slightly more moisture retentive. Depending on what comments I see on here, I may go back to buying Blue Ribbon even though it's more expensive. For my pots that are not fabric and are plastic, I tend to use 5-1-1.
