Too Tall Tomatoes and No Girly Squash??
Comments (4)For your Too Tall Tomatoes: They are not getting enough light. You said "They are shooting up quickly, but there are only 1 or 2 tiny bud clusters that didn't start til about 4ft from the ground". Sounds like tall, spindly plants that are light starved. I've grown most the varieties you mentioned. They should be much more bushy and have multiple flower clusters starting a foot off the ground. You also said there are "trees shading them starting around 1pm". Tomatoes need 6 hours of mid-day sun to produce well. I'm sorry to say that you will probably get very little (if any) fruit with only morning sun. You may want to consider relocating your garden or growing plants that are more tolerant of low light (leafy greens, herbs, etc)....See MoreI'm too cool!(girlie thread)
Comments (11)Marda, When heading south to the OBX this year, are you taking any of the 3 coastal routes(Rt13, Rt113,Rt1)? If you are instead of 95, you might want to take a shopping diversion and try on your choice of weeding glasses. I found them at a store in Selbyville DE., called "Fenwick Float-ors". Needless to say, I have my share of gift shops since I live in a resort area but Float-ors is one of those stores where you find the most unique, cool stuff. I'm providing a link to their store but by their own admission it's not a very good site. They're right. For some reason they show just a few items out of the thousands of items they have in the store. If that isn't enough to tempt you, "Danny-boy", a precious 18 month old golden retriever follows you around the store with a stuffed pink flamingo in his mouth. (His coat is so soft..I could of petted him all day!) To throw in additional ante, I'll meet you there! Check out that beautiful blue crab soup tureen in the center of the page. For $195.00 I want a years supply of crab soup to go with that piece! Some things are pricey, some not. ~di Here is a link that might be useful: Fenwick Float-ors...See MoreBoy Nursery Paint Help-ASAP
Comments (2)The bedding is charming! What color is the furniture in the room? Does the room tend to feel dark or light? Is the chair rail up yet, and if not are you sure you want it? The reason I ask is that the chair rail really has no purpose in bedroom unless you really want to divide the colors on the wall - and once you have the chair rail, you are sort of stuck with that two color thing as long as it is up. Are you sure about the Resolute Blue against the light blue of the bedding? At least in my fan deck, it reads with a definite green undertone. And you are right, Netsuke is very green....See MoreBaby Boy Nursery Colors...help me decide
Comments (32)I definitely think grey is great long term- just change out the accessories. But I wouldn't do grey accessories with grey walls. it'll be too blah. Your taste reminded me a lot of the Emily & Merrit collection. Its geared a bit towards girls but there's a ton of great accessories that would work in your room. I adore their yellow and white pinstripe bedding, it would be great if you could find a crib option similar. curtains: https://www.pbteen.com/m/products/emily-and-merritt-circus-stripe-blackout-drape/?pkey=cemily-meritt-collection&isx=0.3.12536 or https://www.potterybarnkids.com/m/products/large-check-panel-boy/?pkey=cboy-window-panels-and-shades&isx=0.0 or https://www.potterybarnkids.com/m/products/stitched-border-panel/?pkey=cboy-window-panels-and-shades&isx=0.0 rugs: https://www.pbteen.com/m/products/emily-and-meritt-circus-stripe-rug/?pkey=cemily-meritt-collection&isx=0.3.10726 or https://www.pbteen.com/m/products/the-emily-and-meritt-tassel-rug/?pkey=cemily-meritt-collection&isx=0.3.11744 or https://www.potterybarnkids.com/m/products/mercer-rug-boy/?pkey=cboys-rugs&isx=0.0...See MoreN
