"Wall of Windows" behind kitchen sink - How do you meet NEC code?
Comments (19)I haven't got time to find a pic right now, but we put a 7' window over our main sink. I searched and found a 43" sink, and then placed the outlets in the window returns. It just makes the 24" rule on each side. The window returns are flared on a 45 degree angle to soften our thick walls. The inspector was vague about the outlets in the window returns, but they passed it OK. Found a pic- sort of. One outlet is hidden behind the coffee maker, the other one you can see through the glass container. You can see the concept in the other window, just to the right of the mixer....See MoreNeed advice! Which caulk color where counter meets wall/tiles?
Comments (5)Usually the caulk matches the grout. It would be grouted in that area, but the change in planes (the countertop is perpendicular to the backsplash) means that there will be more movement because of the way houses move. If it was grouted, the grout would crack because it is not flexible. Caulk is flexible, so it can withstand the normal movement of a house better - less chance of cracking, though eventually it may also crack and need to be replaced - one of the normal maintenance things one has to do around the house....See MoreShower stall wall doesn't meet wall - suggestions?

Comments (79)I think worthy just found out why your stairs stick out one tread at the bottom..... that top step shouldn't exist. And if it didn't, your stairs would end flush with the wall - as planned. (IIRC that was another issue with the stairs that you called out as a problem)...See MoreVirgil Carter Fine Art
