Trying to make final decision on what to do with lrg family wall
Comments (30)"My DH is against painting the brick, but staining was fine with him. I am going to stain it a combination of "Old World Red" and "Rustic Brown", so you hit the nail on the head with your color selection. I like it much more than the cool grey we currently have. How nice to actually see it! " That is so ironic. Our family room is also painted a gold color, but with a brick fireplace that is more reddish in color. When I showed DH the photos of your beautiful room, it just reconfirmed our desire to re-face with grey stone, lol. I love the way the grey shows off your beautiful wood mantel :-)...See MoreChandelier for the Family Room - Quick Decision
Comments (5)Not sure when you moved in, but have you been there long enough to know for sure you don't need a fan during the hot months? If you might, then I'd look for a good looking fan with a light and just raise it up so it's not as noticeable. I know "good looking" means different things to different people, but I like a style without chandelier looking lights, that sits at the ceiling, more like this:eta: I just realized a ceiling mount won't work with your cathedral ceiling....See Morelooking for input on lamps, tables, accessories for family room
Comments (17)I put together a crude "mood board" of my living room to help me visual things and whether they will "play" well together or not. This is what I have so far. I will streamline my drapery into something more simple, like solid cream color panels with Navy blue banding or trim, something like that. Keep that in mind. So, this is my actual rug, my actual sofas, & pretty darn close to my actual chairs. I played around with different paint colors and this is SW Eider White on the walls. (of course you can't tell much about paint colors on computer monitors). I really like these black end tables I found on a blog....they are the Noir Bellini tables. I was trying different coffee tables and to my surprise, I think I would like a brass & glass coffee table of some sort for in front of the floating sofa. Seems like any kind of wood finish is going to be heavy in the room, or maybe the room just needs the metal & glass for sparkle & keep things from being so flat. I found a representation of map art for the wall above sofa. A couple of leopard pillows to keep things interesting. I feel like this is a good representation of the "feel I"m trying to create. Something traditional, timeless, and maybe a wee bit eclectic....See MoreHelp with Coffee table and "bringing together" my family room please!
Comments (19)Hello everyone! Thanks for your awesome advice. I agree w @groveraxle. I think I may need to consider replacing my rug w something a little more orangey. We love the gray poofy rug. But I’m not sure it matches and is making the purchase of the coffee table quite challenging. I liked @BeverlyFLADeziner recommendation of the 2 x silver patina tables. They are “different”. But I think I may need to add a glass top. What do you guys think of these one? Do they clash w the sectional? The first 2 are from wayfair and I think I’d put 2 as u all recommended. The 3rd amazon and only 1. Can I keep the rug or change it for something beigier? Sorry I stink at colors! You all have been tremendously helpful!...See MoreSue G
