Bathtub drain mis-measured. Water Works faucet won't reach.
Comments (46)Not to belabor and perhaps it is a function of my slack housekeeping skills, but I did not find the need to wipe down the tub in my tub/shower combination every time I showered. The tub in a wet room setting would receive far less of a deluge of skin etc than the tub I was actually standing in. In terms of "scum", most people at this point take the precaution of using liquid shower soap since it is bar soap that causes scum. I have tiles in my shower and I don't wipe them down every time I shower - nor do I wipe down the floor - my Showerguard shower door - the marble curb nor the marble bench. I hose them down with the hand held before exiting in the event there is any noticeable blobs of shampoo or conditioner. I just don't understand how a tub would become such a pestilence of debris - if I rinsed it off - if necessary - with the hand held it would dry just as my.current walk in shower does - which has marble bench, floor, glass frameless enclosure and 3" x 6" tile. Why would there be a need to clean and/or otherwise physically tend to a tub in a wet room environment versus a tub out in the open. Presumably when one cleans the bathroom, the tub out in the open needs to be cleaned just other items in a household need to be cleaned for other than hygienic reasons just because they become dusty and dirty from what is floating in the air....See MoreTub spout water flow?
Comments (0)I recently removed an old fiberglass tub/shower unit and put in a kohler expanse tub. Used a hansgrohe valve with a 2 position diverter for rhe tub/shower and a hansgrohe tub spout. We have 1/2 inch water lines The tub takes 20 minutes to fill, which drives me nuts. Even with the water full on the hot position, the water cools off by the time the tub is filled. Is there a solution? Is it the mixer or the spout? The spout seems to flowing at maximum capacity. Specs don't indicate flow rate I have a 66 inch freestanding tub elsewhere that fills pretty fast. Plumber is coming back soon to do some other work and I will ask, but this is a rural area and he just likes delta fixtures so I don't know if he will helpful....See MorePlumbing Recommendation for Shower Head, Hand Held and Tub Spout
Comments (12)Hi Esme Would love to help you out but not sure what additional information I can provide. What we have works, a diverter tub spout, but It is frustrating when guests use the shower because to send the water to the shower you must pull down on the bottom of the spout and it is not obvious that this piece is there or how to use it. I had wanted a single 3-way diverter that would have diverted the water to the 3 outlets but my plumber goofed from what he told me to purchase for fixtures to the way his workmen plumbed the pipes and valve. I have replaced the 3-way/6 function trim/cartridge which had 3 positions with no water (what would have been tub only, Tub + shower head, Tub + hand held) with a 2 way/3 function diverter. My new plumber was refusing to install the 2-way diverter stating that it wouldn't work properly despite the install instructions that the same rough in valve worked with either the 3-way or 2-way. The Trim Kit included the cartridge so the new 2-way fixture included a compatible cartridge. He installed it, just to prove me wrong, and it worked as I expected! He said he had a customer with the same issue and took the instructions and box so he could recommend how to fix her problem. These are Brizo/Delta Valves and Trim. I don't think the set up I ended up with is the best diverter set up. However, I received conflicting feedback from the Showroom, who consulted their Delta Rep, and the Delta Customer Service, that I contacted, on whether or not Option A (3-way diverter) would work. Good Luck! I really felt like I was the first person to want a tub, shower and hand held configuration with the amount of confusion with the Showroom, Delta and my Plumber....See MoreLeaky tub spout help
Comments (5)I would contact Grohe directly, and they will send you a replacement...I doubt any box stores will have this part in stock, especially I think that line of Grohe was discontinued... But Grohe offers lifetime replacements on all fixture parts, so a good chance you will get a replacement. I have all Grohe fixtures throughout my house, going on 20 yrs now since I build it, thank god I only needed one kitchen faucet part a few years ago and Grohe shipped replacement part free of charge. Good luck!...See MoreKathryn Baker
