Comments (31)Wow, it's fun to see this thread again! I missed out totally on the posts made in April! I checked back here today because over on Home Dec Awm03 said she'd commented here. Thanks for letting me know, Awm03! NicoleAusten, thank you so much for your very flattering words!!! By now, I suppose you've selected your doors. Which did you choose? Flyleft! Hi! I wasn't hanging around when YOU posted, darling! I am very touched by your screen name suggestion. Thanks! Colorfast, that's nice of you to say. Yes, the paint selection is an important task, yes? I am delighted to say I am still enjoying this Clear Pond hue from Behr. Awm03, thanks for looking, and for checking on my little PR project! I have all my ideas together, but not the person to make it happen! I am interviewing another "Skilled Craftsman" Monday. Send positive energy for me that this guy is the "one!" LOL! Wifisker, thanks! I appreciate that! Indeed, HD & Lowes have some amazing options these days. Btw, my project was completed the day after Thanksgiving, 2011, and I purchased a lot from HD around Labor Day. Keep a lookout for really good sales there around that time. Many specials are online only. (I saved a bundle on the vanities buying them online and on sale.) Hi Lukki! I think of you as the bath remodel queen, so I am really delighted that we selected the same faucet! Thanks for stopping by!...See MoreOT: Per request, a few select before/after whole house remodel
Comments (20)Thanks guys! Breezy: I cannot remember the paint color but my painter is still working in the basement so I'll ask him tomorrow. I wanted a warm grey for that room. Neutral but not a cold feeling. Enduring: the kids' bath is black slate. I love slate but did not want as much variation in size of the tiles as most multicolor slate tends to have lots of variation...easy to stub toes. Black slate does not and I loved the black/white theme so it is easy to change accessories as the kids grow up. The guest bath is slate but not black. It is actually mostly navy with some gold tones. Very interesting and again less variation in size. Still waters: we had the heating system reworked (boiler in basement so its radiant heat) so we adjusted some of the baseboard heaters and took that one out and kept the one on the back wall. Worked out well to add the extra storage....See MoreMaster Bath Remodel - Before and After pics
Comments (30)Lovely bathroom. Did you use a schluter system for the entire shower or just the floor and drain? FWIW I like your bath so much we've been using it as a basis for our Master remodel. The color we selected for our cabinetry is a bit deeper brown and we are opting for a solid gray shower tile by Foussana. The difficulty we are having is finding a faux marble tile for the floor that doesn't look either lifeless or doesn't have a repeating pattern. Your floor tiles are very nice although I'd prefer either matte or honed on the floor. Sadly neither of those finishes ever seem to have the depth and wow factor of the gloss tile in your bath. I can't find a dealer in our State with your brand although we are still searching. We may end up with real Marble on the floor but that's not my first choice. Thanks for sharing your photos and details of your build. We already feel your pain on the cost and time frame!...See MoreBefore and After Master Bath Remodel pics, details on resources
Comments (33)Hey, I know this is an older post, but were you worried about the lack of an access panel for the shower? I'm curious what your plumber and/or contractor said about this. Working on our bathroom now (plumbing on exterior wall), and trying to figure the best way to handle this. Thanks!...See MoreVanguard Development LA
