Show me your baseboard trim that is at least 4' high!
Comments (14)I vote for # 2 & # 3. Natureperson, I found a trim near by that is nice that I have a sample of and it is similar to your trim but the one I have here is 5.25" high. Since seeing your picture, I am thinking of going with this baseboard molding. I love so many of the pictures but I need to find baseboard molding that is finger joint primed pine and not the Poplar I prefer due to finances. I like the 4.25" to 4.5" best for my room but it is more expensive so I am thinking I am not used to seeing trim higher than the 3" I have on my wall now so I may end up loving the 5.25" trim. All the rooms are gorgeous and I am beginning to think I will be happy with any new trim on my new wall....See Moregranite- moving 72'' preformed countertops 3/4 inch thick
Comments (9)with no cutouts they shouldn't be all that fragile and 3/4" m,aterial is roughly 12 lbs per sq. ft. so your parts should be managable by 2 adult males. handle them upright like glass and be careful when you tip them down to flat, thats when most breakage occurs. If you want to be extra careful take a couple of "C" clamps and clamp a piece of angle iron to the outside edge using tape or wood shims between the clamp and the stone to prevent scratches. we have customers haul parts like that all the time in the back of pick ups without breakage. again, if you want to be extra careful ask a local fabricator if you can borrow an "A" frame. not sure how it would be in your area; around here almost any fabricator would loan an "A" frame just for the goodwill. maybe offer to leave a deposit....See MoreBaseboard and trim/casing experts - please need advice on thickness?
Comments (2)I don't know if there is a "rule" but a 1/2" baseboard dying into a 3/4" casing, even allowing for a casing edge profile, looks nice....See MoreBaseboards installed 3/4 inch above floor. Problem?
Comments (4)I agree with the previous responses - your carpet might work with a 3/4 gap. If not, try placing a strip of 1/4 inch plywood under the baseboard to reduce the gap to 1/2 inch....See Morerwiegand
