Baseboards installed 3/4 inch above floor. Problem?

Hi. I'm having my place repainted and carpeted and as part of the process, hired a contractor to replace baseboards. After he finished, I noticed that the baseboards were installed 3/4 inch above the floor. I've read that the recommended gap is somewhere between 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch for carpet. I haven't installed the new carpet yet. Does anyone here have experience with dealing with ~3/4 inch gap? Do you think it's worth the trouble for me to take out the baseboards and reinstall to a lower height before the carpet is installed?

Thanks!
