Front yard landscape for dark brown brick house
Comments (8)There is no need to match the color of the landscaping to your house :-) Plants go with any color house! And avoid any dyed or brightly colored mulches - they can be harmful and they look glaringly artificial!! Pick a mulch with a natural color and let age to whatever color it wants. Mulch should never be a focal point in a garden and ideally, should not be seen much at all once the plantings mature....See MoreIdeas for Updating Our Front Exterior Home Facade?
Comments (12)Love the house. A definite yes to the squared up columns. There is so much garage door expanse (three car garage--fantastic!!) that I would maybe consider painting them or changing out to blend more with house. Landscaping refresh. Front door really does look fine, but if it's not in great condition and you're looking for a change, I would switch to one center door with sidelites. Congrats on your new home!...See MoreExterior Paint color given the roof (dark brown) and brick
Comments (3)Gray with darker gray trim or even black trim would look good. What is your budget? Does it allow for a new garage door? I agree with going with the MCM vibe. The gray would probably need to be a warmer gray so it doesn't fight with the brick. Comments (8)I agree the brick is fine but the shutters need to go. I actually think the current siding color with the roof and brick is nice. Garage door should be the same color to pull focus away from it. You want more focus at your front door/entry area. At some point you might think about a garage door with windows across the top. That can add interest and help break up the "wall." Larger light fixtures for the garage and front door would be nice. As gardengal suggested, beef up the posts and maybe the same for the window trim once the shutters are gone. Though this is an entirely different house, it gives you an idea of how the sage green gardengal mentioned could work with brown brick (or stone, in this example)....See MoreA Mc
