Mini iron/sealing iron, how do you find it invaluable?
Comments (10)I have the Hanger9 sealing iron - looks the same as the Hobbico- I Love-Love-Love it! Mine gets very hot - maybe 500 degrees(?). I did silicon glue the little stand to a piece of ceramic tile, leftover from a project, and I place that on a small useless cutting board w/ a handle from a food gift, so I have a handle to grip it in order to move it out of the way. I also plug it into a countdown timer I found at Amazon so it shuts off automatically after whatever #of minutes or hours I set. I use it when paper piecing, and making small blocks. I like to press - so use it where others finger press. It has a sloped point, so it allows you to press exactly the spot you want w/out distortion. Does it replace your regular iron? No, but it is a lot smaller and precise. I also take it to classes (and nobody wants to use it (yea!) because they don't realize it is an iron:)...See MoreGate hanging...

Comments (11)Hi Winker! I just want to say that I know how you feel when you don't get a response to a post. So many times I feel I leave a post that closes the entire thread! Hope I don't your thread, tho! Another thing: It's hard to picture where the window and iron gate will go because I've never been to your home and can't picture the perfect place. Sometimes posting a photo of either a problem area or the newly acquired item goes a long way. Being on the Garden Web forum I wonder if you are a gardener? I hung out on that side so long it was only recently that I even browsed the home forums. Many gardeners love the iron gates to support their climbing plants like morning glories, sweet peas, cucumbers or pumpkins....anything viney. I'd love to see your window. I do have a few panels of leaded glass that we removed from my in-laws built in buffet when they were remodeling. They sat in my garage for about 10 years before I saw someone else mount them with chain and hang them on the wall. I'm attaching a link to a photo album to show you. HTH. Here is a link that might be useful: window idea...See MoreHanging a wrought iron piece
Comments (1)You will want to make sure your "Hanger" hits a stud! Two 10p nails will do the job, as long as they hit a stud. For a more secure hanger, use a stud finder to see where the hangers need to be placed, hold the iron piece up to the marks (for the studs) Mark the iron piece, take to a local fab shop/welder have tabs with holes added to the marks so that you can screw it in directly to the studs....See More- 5 years ago
