Front entrance design ideas
Comments (2)Well your long flat uninteruppted roof line makes it easy to look right over the front door, so I think you already know the answer to your question. Some other ideas: Painting the front door a brighter color would make it stand out also Put matching evergreen shrubs on either side of the door. Can't tell from your photo if there is any room or not. If no open ground then use pots. Line the stoop with a different type of material, like brick to stand out from the foundation....See MoreFront Entry Design
Comments (2)(I hope I'm not double posting...I lost my internet connection when I hit preview message before!) Okay, so it is really hard to see exactly what you're describing from the picture angles, but I think that the main issue is not that one wall will be longer on the barrel vault but that you are going to have to significantly drop the entire soffit to achieve a symmetrical barrel vault in that space. From the pics, it looks like you'll have to drop it about 2-3' in order to be able to have a centered vault in that space. Again, it's really hard to tell, so I could be totally off here. If you're willing to do that though, I think a barrel vault could work. What were you planning to do on that right wall? You'll need to drop the casing all the way to the floor, or at least chair rail level, for it to look finished. How were you planning on integrating this with the remainder of that long wall? I also think that this should be returned to the architect. It's hard to make a suggestion of this sort without knowing floor plan, flow of rooms, side views from the great room, etc. BTW, what's going on with the left side of the stairs above the landing? Will that area eventually be a wall? Right now it looks dangerous! Good luck! The view from the front door is amazing...how is it in the backyard??...See Morefront entrance design
Comments (6)The photo is an inadequate illustration of the area....doesn't show the whole space, no context provided and I can't tell for sure if it is inside or out. Based on the railing/bannister, I assume it is inside.......in which case it begs the question as to why crosspost to Landscape Design?? Nothing landscapey about what I can see!...See MoreHelp with front entryway design
Comments (1)I would default to a bright white. Another option is to do a tall wainscoting painted white and have your accent color above....See MoreChar Martin
