A friend of mine has used two different methods to catch the seeds since, as he explained to me, the seeds will get flung quite a distance during pod dehiscence. One method was to tie a small piece of old pantyhose around the flowering area of the plant. This allows the plant to 'breath' still and prevents the seeds from getting away. In method two, (which I believe is the only method he uses now) he takes a small "blob" of the fiber fill used for stuffing in things like pillows and stuffed animals, streches it out into a rather wispy 'cloud' and mounds/gently wraps that over and around the pods. Again it allows for good air circulation, and catches the seeds thereby making seed recovery easy. He said he also finds this easier to apply than method one as well as less worrisome with regard to damaging the plant.

I would guess the builder's intent is for you to see, inspect and approve some of or all of the completed trim work, interior and/or exterior. So you should be thinking and looking for: --The proper types as required by the construction documents, and/or good practice; --Workmanship meeting the standards of construction documents and/or the trade --Errors, omissions and incomplete work On the other hand, if none of the trim was detailed or specified, then perhaps the purpose of the meeting is for you to walk around and describe what you want where. If this is the case, you need to be prepared to describe to builder what you want, or be willing to accept whatever the builder wants to install, lacking any direction from you. Break ups at any age can be devastating but thankfully we do get over it. Focus on the fact that the decision was mutual and gently remind him that both of them are away from home for the first time and their lives and experiences are changing .. and in the process they are growing and maturing. And also let him know that he isn't alone, this happens often. Perhaps this relationship just wasn't meant to be. And the old adage 'one step at a time' works well here as well. If he throws his energy into finishing his semester and studying for finals that should give him plenty to do. And then he'll be home for semester break. Slowly the pain will diminish. My own son and his girlfriend dated all through college and graduate school and then split after 6 years. This wasn't mutual! He was bewildered and in shock. We were all in shock - she was part of our family. Turns out she met someone and now they are married. When this happened I just tried to be there for him. He didn't want to talk about it. I know he was mourning. He had previously had a bout of depression in college and went to a psychiatrist who prescribed anti-depressants. He took them for about a year. When this happened (4 years after the first episode) he returned but only took medication for 6 months. Now - things are so much better. He's met a lovely girl who makes him feel good about himself. He's had several promotions at work. And he let slip that 2011 might be a big year for him. I think that means an engagement.

We have old, disconnected knob and tube wires in our basement, in crawl spaces and other unseen places. I don't know if some is still in our walls. Some of it is pretty scary-looking, a fire waiting to happen if it actually was live. Our house was built in 1910, so pretty much the same vintage as yours. Pulling/fishing wire through walls is a royal pain, Hard to see what's blocking the new wire your are trying to run through tge wall. . Old knob and tube in the walls and in your way may be the reason the electrician preferred to remove it.
