Is my plant going to die?
Comments (7)Just a question, isn't Miracle Gro fertilzer? You don't say what sort of pot you have planted it in.I would suggest you plant it into a reasonable sized flower pot, one that easily takes the rootball, but doesn't swamp it, in an ericacious compost. As a camelia is an outdoor shrub, it should be the other side of the patios doors. I have found shrubs discarded on rubbish tips that have survived; just don't over water it thinking that's what it needs, or over pamper it. Put it in a quiet part of the garden and let it get on by itself....See MoreIs My Kalanchoe Going to DIE???
Comments (1)This plant, being variegated, prefers more shade than a regular K. luciae which also prefers partial shade. Anytime you repot a plant, it should be allowed to acclimate in the shade and settle in to it's new home (soil) before being introduced to very much sun. It's also a good idea to control the watering during this period. This plant has made it onto my unfavorable list. The answer to your question: Yes, it's going to die... eventually. When the plant goes to flower (can happen anytime) it dies afterward. That's why it needs shade. The good news is that there are usually new pups occurring simultaneously and so the wheel of life continues to turn, if you're in to that sort of thing....See MoreAnyone want my Calomondin ? I am going to let it die this fall!
Comments (12)Sorry everyone! Was on vaca for a bit up in northern Maine, and I stayed at a friends home that had the largest south facing windows and skylights you could dream for. I was so jealous. You all know why!!! Right in the middle of corn fields mind you. You could here a fly winds flapping as it went by a hundred feet away, it was so quite and tranquil. No paved roads to get there.Miles of dirt road to get to his home. Does anyone here live like this? lol So what, my citrus would of loved to sit in that house all winter,, Anyways here is a couple of pics I took today of the tree.. Nancy, thankyou for directing others to the older pic..:-) Tsmith, thanks for the info and instructions! Everyone else, thankyou for the compliments and support. You are all such a great bunch of people..You make this forum alive and fun! Love you all! P.s...Luckyladyd, I wouldn't have a clue. I always buy my trees labled, usually have no problem caring for them, especially with all the help I have learned from others here. So sorry. I would post a pic of it, and so someone would recognize it, someone like tsmith, rhizzo, or anyone else who knows the citrus much better than I do. I would start a new thread. Give it a shot..Good luck! Thach, let's work something out k... Phone number is 978-376-6561 E-mail is mikerno_1@yahoo.com...See MoreAre my new Areca Palms going to die from fertliizer?
Comments (4)I am in the SE Florida (Broward) area. The areca's are being water every other day with a soaker hose about 1-2 inch on either side of the plant for 2.5 hours. The fertilizer says "The granules contain slow-release nitrogen for extended feeding up to 2 months and potassium to help palms resist stress." I don't notice any sign of impending doom after 2 weeks, although many of the plants have many to nearly all yellow-bronze leaves (they came this way, the guy went to a different nursery and bought them because the one I specified wasn't open for another 15 minutes, the plants are inferior and look like crap)...See MoreJean
