Correcting a bad planting error -- 3 yrs out
Comments (28)Well, many know that spreading gypsum around willy-nilly is a waste of money, petz (cheap has nothing to do with anything when spending money you don't need to spend [wasteful]), and Linda merely wrote up what many know. Sorry you didn't catch that. And sorry you didn't mention that Ca is abundant in the PedOCal region )the Ca in PedOCal) and gypsum isn't needed to release Ca, esp as the OP mentioned 'caliche'. And surely you know, having a horticultural education, that qualifying statements for such an article are the norm, else you'd spend a lot of time writing letters to authors of articles you read. As I said, reread your soil text. The one you saved from your uni education for future use. And it is likely your ag econ text says the same thing: never spend money on a treatment that is not needed. This is not to say that a soil analysis will not find that gypsum is needed. This is to say that automagically stating that one should spread gypsum is not needed. HTH. Dan...See MoreI keep getting OOPS message

Comments (8)I went back twice to the cab installers when mistakes were noticed. The first one was that they installed the back part of my island too high for the counter to line up properly. They knew the counters were supposed to flow into the back "cubbies" at the same level but had elevated the back cabs too high by 3/4". They came back within a few days. After they left, the next a.m., in daylight, I noticed that when they put the island top back together, they had drilled to far in and a screw has pushed out a section of the back cover panel. Someone tried to hide it with glue and tape (of all things!) so I called immediately, and they acknowledged that someone screwed it up. I was annoyed they were not honest about it. They finished while we were eating dinner, so I came upstairs, ok-ed it in low lighting and did not have my glasses on. I did not think I needed to inspect every inch of it. That was 3 weeks ago, and while they say they are coming back, no on has yet. I contacted them again this week, but may have to call Ikea because they are the "recommended" installers, and this is unacceptable. I am livid they tried to hide it from me and were not honest and upfront about it. In your kitchen, this is not something that they can argue you damaged. It was clearly not done right in the first place....See Moremurraysmom Zone 6a OH
