Help with corridor kitchen in old Sears kit house
Comments (5)Kmac -- You need to go to the Read If You're New to GW Kitchens entry (which is usually bumped to the first page), to see how to post photos and link to external images. Meanwhile, I have posted the original Sears catalog page for your house so that the great planners on this forum can at least see what the original layout is. (Clicking on the houseplan image will make it large enough to read.) It sounds to me as though you have opened the kitchen to include the former pantry and mudroom area. Also, I think you meant 10 ft rather 10 inches? In any case, I think you will get lots of excellent help if you can provide visual clarification. Very cute house, BTW. Comments (3)I have no idea what's typical as we've had a big spread in bids. But we are having our guestroom above the garage done this winter. It is 32 X 26 exterior, 48 inch knee walls. 10 foot attic ceiling, 9 windows (dormers) and will have an 8 x 9 foot bathroom snugged into a corner. I would have to really get out the tape to figure the SF. We have the drywall already but labor will be 2500$. Same guy did the house 3 years ago, claimed it was his "premium" finish - had to have him back a couple times for ceiling seams. We are about an hour north of Philly....See MoreHelp with Corridor!!!
Comments (14)Hello everyone! I really appreciate all your comments, photos and suggestions. Painting the door would be difficult, but the walls is ok. I have a couple of questions concerning this point: Could I paint only the corridor and keep the walls of the other rooms (living and dining room) white? What colors would go well? I have a big problem with the combination of colors and materials, that's why I always choose white, black or gray. However, I'm tired of that and that's why I'm looking for help. Don’t think that I have not tried, but I’m not good on that. I share with you a couple of photos of the staircase and the living room. Hope you can help to choose the right color in the wall and the runner to get a cousy and modern ambiance....See Moremodern photos of Not So Big Houses?
Comments (10)Molly - what is your personality type? What do you need from your home environment? What allows you to enjoy your space? I an an introvert - get exhausted by people, I need order, clean lines, simplicity in my space. My sister is the opposite - she needs people to give her energy. She thrives on input. My home is MCM with daylight lighting, my sister's home is a Tudor home with Queen Anne Antique furnishings and soft white lighting. I have white trim, my sister has wood trim and wood beams. My sister's home is beautiful (won an award for best new design in our county the year it was built), but I am exhausted just looking at all the busy patterns and colors and textures. She is my best friend, but sometimes need her to stop talking. She loves me, but I drive her crazy with needing the perfect color and taking way too much time to make decisions. Knowing who you are and what you need is how you figure out how to style your space....See More3pinktrees
