Need help with paint colors for 1950s brick ranch house
Comments (2)I love, love, love blonde brick. It has such a lovely golden color. Are you sure you can't work with it instead of painting over it? It has a great midcentury style to it that I find appealing....See More1950s ranch home - 1st kitchen remodel layout help
Comments (3)For budget reasons, you probably should not move appliances very far. My first thought would be something like the following (hope it is legible). This maximizes counterspace, which may or may not be what you most desire. To maximize storage, the pantry is full-height, and around 15-18 inches deep. It would hold much more than just upper cabinets. You did not show a photo of your buffet window, but I am guessing that you might need to raise the window sill, which could be a big budget item....See More1950's Texas Ranch Style House - Exterior Paint Ideas
Comments (25)My laptop does weird things to colors, so I can't really tell what color your house is. Maybe my eyes aren't much better. I like a sage green house, and there are so many greens that fit that description. With that you can can have white trim or off white trim. Is that cream or ecru or whatever you call that. (Clearly I am not one of those gals that agonize over the 50 different shades of white, I can't even discern the diff between 'em. When I want white, I like the primer's white white! There are some advantages of age :) As for a door color, you can choose a lighter tint of the sage or a burgundy or lipstick-y pinky-wine or even a pumpkin or a teal. I love a dark glossy green door....See MoreCurb appeal for 1950s ranch with hidden door? Holidays are a Pain!
Comments (19)Regardless of hidden front door you have tons of options as people have mentioned. If I were you, I would get some large outdoor ornaments to hang in the tree- lots of fun colorful ones or all red. (I actually do this with a redbud tree in my side yard.) You could even make some out of styrofoam balls and paint if you're handy and want a project- then they could look however you wanted! You can buy ($$$) or make ($) a large wreath for biggest portion of picture window (like as tall as that section of window is) and it could be lit or not. And get smaller wreaths for the normal sized windows on that front portion of house (the one to right of picture window and the one over behind the car). Swag some real or fake garland on railings (Trader Joes has great real evergreen garland for about $7/8-10 feet piece) and add white lights (or colorful lights if that is your jam)....See MoreJenn Krimmer
