Just stop watering and cross your fingers. It only needs water when most of it has dried out.

I am rather new at this but when my mom died we received a false aralia and all the leaves ended up falling off and then the next was the bark came off does this mean that it died or is there something I can do to get it back? All the other ones came out great just having problems with it. Thanks for the info

I love both types of False Aralias..The one Pep bought, and the one w/longer, thinner leaves..Saw one at Walmart last wk, should have bought it..darn Mr. Sub, both FA's can attract mites if air is super dry..But if you mist/take to sink and shower, keep a humidifer running, they should do fine. Since most plant books state FA's should be placed in light strong enough to read by, I find by following these rules there's less chance of contracting mites. Also, by keeping plant clean keeps mites at bay..for instance, if leaves yellow and/or fall, remove promptly. Don't let dead foliage sit in soil or on stems.. Many plants have bad reps when it comes to mites..Crotons are mite magnets, but if given care, they'll do fine. But it requires work. Pep, love your knew FA..Toni

Jure, It's good you didn't use any fertilizer on your Lychees as they are very sensitive to it. I've started a few seedlings myself just for the fun of it and I've noticed that when they are left dry too long between watering, their leaves will begin to dry up. I'm not sure yours is the case. They like to be watered once the soil becomes dry, but not soaking wet all the time. Are you growing the seedlings to produce fruit at a future date? Lychee seedlings unfortunately don't produce fruit quickly. I heard it may take 8-10 years. I have some seedlings which I started 8 years ago and they are still in the pot and never fruited at all. Then, I have also quite a few lychee trees in the ground that are about the same age. Some of them have produced fruit already--though they don't always have a lot of fruit every growing season for me. Assuming that you do wish to have the fruit soon, I would suggest you order an air layered or grafted plant and plant it in the ground. They'll grow quicker and bigger for you and the fruit production will definitely be more than those cultivated in the pot. Even when cultivated in the pot, the air-layered or grafted ones will fruit at 3-4 ft tall, but of course the fruit is scanty. If you're just planting them for a hobby, they're nice little plants to look at. I have some sitting on my window ledge and I enjoy looking at them whenever I enter or leave my house. Have fun with your little seedlings.
