False aralia plant leaves are drying out

Hello, I recently got a false aralia plant from a Walmart. I put it on my window sill of my west facing window. I watered it yesterday when I noticed the top inch of the soil was dry. Now the soil is moist. I have also been misting lightly once every two days. It looks relatively healthy other then the fact that some of it's leaves are starting to brown and some have dried up and started falling off towards the bottom of the plant. I also don't know if it should be repotted or not? Any suggestion as to why this could be happening? Or how to stop more of the leaves from drying out? Is it normal for this to happen.
