Which Kitchen Dining Light Fixtures?
Hi! Would love your advice about light fixtures. Enclosed pictures of possibly 2 that would work.
Us: 30s, newlyweds. Just bought a Tudor style home that we are renovating. WOW its stressful (petty bickering for sure) but it will be worth it. Our last home was a new build that was super contemporary. So our decor style has "changed" - trying to find middle ground in this Tudor style neighborhood. Searching for fixtures. I like to think they are the jewelry of when you enter a home. Its exciting!
For reference- cabinets are white. Island is gray. Tops are white marble style quartz. Pulls will probably be a brass.
We love the "Andromeda" or the Dandelion sputnik (Kate Spade style)- we love a funky fun piece. But those aren't in the budget. So we went with this one from Pottery Barn. Seems like a mix. Safe.

We need 2 fixtures for the kitchen island. Seems like we have narrowed it down to these 2. Globe pendant or a sputnik style pendant.
I love the sputnik- my husband the globe. The sputnik is fun, cute and makes me smile. The globe is pretty and classic. Safe. I realize one is classy and the other one is probably maybe too much when combined with the chandelier. The globe may let the chandelier stand out more. The sputnik might be too much when in the same space? Is this like red lipstick with smoky eyeliner vs simple eyes? Or a crazy bling necklace with bling chandelier earrings vs diamond studs?
I know I can be a little extra at times...so....hoping for your advice. Thoughts? Enclosed is also the layout of the home for space reference. Thanks in advance for helping us make this decision easier. And honestly- if you have any other suggestions - totally game! Hoping to spend less than $1k for all 3.

Comments (12)Hmm that is minimal very geometric LED lighting....the other ones are so minimal they look like they would be used in a warehouse..sorry that sounds snotty! Don‘t mean to....it visually reminded me of warehouse lighting.....I really think you can take it up just a notch...aNd still have a minimal look..... Comments (2)I'm looking to replace my dining light fixture. The attached furnished photo is from the model unit. I have a round white table and the walls will also be white. One side of the dining room is open to the living room and the left is to the kitchen. I plan to do a white, grey, black, color pallet with pops of bright colors (maybe switch to jewel tones in the fall). Which light fixture should I go for? Or should I just make it a recessed light? 5 years agoA couple of interesting pendants for over island but still need info. This globe has glass Sputnik inside but it is small. Looking for larger size. Checks both your boxes! Lol. Other photo won’t post. I will try tomorrow.

5 years agoBig sputnik fan here.. Kichler has a nice one, not as detailed but very cool. Would look great with the globe pendants.
