Cleaning quartz bathroom counters

The grout in my new quartz countertops keeps turning pink(=moldy) and I am constantly cleaning it. I have only been using gentle cleaners that are meant for granite/quartz but I wonder if it is at all effective. As there seems to be no antibacterial/bleaching agent? they seem to be more polishing cleansers then antibacterials? I was wondering if anyone could recommend a cleanser that is safe for these countertops and will work in an "antibacterial" way? or some other way to keep the mold at bay?

Bleach can yellow white quartz countertops. Check the manufacturer's use and care guide on their website.

You can and should use a bleach based cleaner. It will be fine on quartz...just not marble

Once you get used to squeegeeing the space it becomes second nature. I HATE cleaning showers! But I never have to clean mine because I squeegee it every day after the shower. I have a microfiber towel with which I wipe the fixtures down and all the corners of caulking. I think I will try jerzeegirl's technique and squeegee in two steps and see how I like it. I really appreciate my daily efforts so I don't have to clean the thing otherwise. Once a month I might use Method bathroom cleaner on the shower pan (Kohler cast iron) I don't like my beautiful niche. If I could do it over, I would not put one in. It is always collecting water during the shower and I have to remove the items to wipe it down even though it slopes. I don't want to risk mold getting a hold in my bathroom. I would rather have just got a quality teak bench for the shower and placed my supplies there. Currently I have a small narrow drainable basket sitting on my floor for my large shampoo bottle and conditioner. My niche is a piece of expensive property that I find high maintenance. I used fiberglass faced drywall for all my walls in my bathroom remodel. The drywaller was concerned about the expense. Well it was only a few dollars more then the standard sheet. I had heard that paper faced drywall is more at risk for mold because the paper is food for mold. Fiberglass is not. Then I requested, instead of regular drying type joint compound, that they use setting type joint compound. Once dry it can't be rewetted. I don't know if this is reasonable or not but I went that direction. I have a very good fan setup and sufficient gaps under my doors for make up air to enter the room while the fans are running. I have a timer that is dedicated only to the fan and I turn it on so it will run for 30 to 60 minutes during and after my shower. My bathroom does not steam up at all. In the old bathroom I had mold growing at the drywall ceiling above the shower. No bulkhead there either. I don't think I had enough make up air while the fan ran. With my new shower I have a fan vent in the shower and another near the toilet area. They duct together in the attic where they connect to the motor and exhaust out the roof. My shower ceiling is 8' and drywalled with the wall materials mentioned above. I used BM Aura Bath and Spa paint.

Any one out there with Arctic White quartz as a bathroom countertop?

As to color and not the material--Made the mistake of using pure white Formica for a bathroom counter. Just don't do it unless you're keen on using a vacuum to clean the counter every single time you use it. Pure white shows every last strand of hair that lands on it. The counter can be clean, as in sterile, and one hair lands on it and it looks really bad. My advice is to pick something that has a bit of a pattern.

the first picture is the first floor bathroom, the second and third picture is the guest bathroom. We picked this quartz for the guest bathroom, which worked out great. Due to the amount of quartz we had to order, we decided to put the extra in the first floor bath, which doesn't look so great. So I'm asking for if there are any paint and/or tile recommendations for the first floor bath so I could tie the countertop better with the vanity.

I use simple green on my quartz bath and quartzite kitchen counters.

I've never had a problem using Clorox cleaner with Bleach or Lysol with bleach on my quartz counters or granite counters in 3 different houses over the last 20 years. Test in a hidden area first, just to be sure.

There shouldn't be any "grout" in your quartz countertops?

Simple green does nothing to disinfect or kill bacteria or mold or anything...it's just soap

I’d get a brush and scrub the grout with a solution of dawn and water. The manufacturer of my quartz recommends Windex for general cleaning of the quartz.

Dish soaps like Dawn disinfect. Definitely check the manufacturer's page on appropriate cleaners. My quartz instructions specified no bleach or bleach products. You might also try mixing rubbing alcohol with water to disinfect.

I would recommend not following advice from Houzz. What works for some could damage your countertop. Shoot an email off to the manufacturer or ask on their FB page.

I don't think you understand what disinfect means....dawn dish soap at best kills some bacteria but not 100% (it is not classified as a disinfectant with the EPA and does not serve that function) the bacteria it kills definitely doesn't include viruses like flu or mold which only bleach or a product that has the claim "disinfectant" on the label would be able to eliminate.

For daily cleaning of our granite and one quartz counter, I use either Glass Plus (which is ammonia free) or a solution I make with 1 part rubbing alcohol/2 parts water and a few drops of lavender oil in a spray bottle (lavender oil optional). I buy rubbing alcohol in bulk at Sam's Club or Costco. (I'm not sure if rubbing alcohol kills all germs though.) Then, once a week, the cleaning lady uses Weiman's granite cleaner & polish on all the granite (I tried several granite cleaners/polishers and that was my favorite.) She might even use it on the quartz too, who knows.

For cleaning of our one little bathroom quartz counter, I will also sometimes use Fantastik Heavy Duty which is my go-to all purpose bathroom cleaner, except for the Toto toilets we clean with a 1:1 Fabuloso/water solution in a spray bottle which is a neutral cleanser so as not to destroy the Toto sanigloss finish. (No, Fabuloso isn't a germ killer but I don't want to ruin the sanigloss finish because it makes cleaning the toilet easier in general).
