Comments (13)Gotta dig out from under the limb to see what is totally wiped out. It will take muscles and the ability to use a chainsaw. It can wait because of the heat. I wouldn't ask anyone to work when it is 100 degrees or more outside. My car is okay. I wasn't looking forward to living without wheels until mine were repaired. Something good has arrived with the fallen limb. There are all kinds of birds checking out Nature's decorating skills and they approve wholeheartedly. Mr.and Mrs. Towhee now have plenty of places to hide from the neighbor's cat. The Titmouse family stopped by to offer their condolences for the loss of my bird feeder. I took them up on their offer to clean up the spilled seeds. They did a good job and it didn't cost anything for the cleanup. There was a big fight between the Robins and the Mockingbird families but I think they've settled their differences. Perhaps I should take a lesson from them and not be so hard on my own neighbors. On second thought the Robins won that fight by kicking butt. The Sparrow children are taking frequent baths now much to the delight of their parents. The Hummingbirds have a great spot right next to the kitchen window where they can sit and have lunch and not be disturbed by anything. Sometimes the good just outweighs the bad....See MoreBattery powered lawn mowers pro's and cons
Comments (7)It may depend on really what you wish to accomplish by mulching. If you are looking to avoid windrows and not to deal with bagging, you may succeed. I like battery / electrics for the obvious reasons, but they do fall short when you up the anti. For that matter, gas mowers can have issues mulching heavy grass -especially when the cut can be less frequent when it should be. Mulching takes more power and in most lawns to be done properly you shouldn't be cutting much over 1/3 of the grass at a time. You may remember when mulching became more common place many years ago. Manufacturers made attachments or changed decks and left 4 horse engines on them. They couldn't keep up. That is why the horsepower wars started and what engine power that used to push a small rider around a yard and cut- became warranted on walk behinds with their advanced mulching systems....See Moreralph_zone8_nc
