Comments (28)I'd love to hear the news and see the pictures too, Paula. I honestly have no idea how the day went! When you are putting on an event, and leading tours, the day goes by much too quickly. I took not a single photo, and hope that folks who did come are willing to share. I saw Daun, and Michael AT, and several of the Vintage friends, so folks certainly turned out. If Aprille was here, I didn't get to meet her. From my perspective, it was a great day, although it was quite hot. The roses loved it, and many opened obligingly throughout the day. Many people bought roses, and I think that we are set with enough money in the budget for another year's operations. Heartfelt thanks to everybody who came to help (Jeri and Clay for the great catalog, especially) and everyone who came for a lovely day. The folks who stayed overnight are planning to meet up tomorrow morning for just a little more time in the cemetery. It's hard to tear away... Comments (10)I'll buy one, too. Do you have any idea if it is being produced as a Region Free DVD (can be played anywhere in the world) or if it will be a Region 1 DVD (can only be played in the US, Canada, Bermuda, and US territories)? If it is not too late, I think it might be worth considering. I ask on behalf of rose fans outside of the United States. Region coding was set up to allow restriction of movie distribution, but that might not be a good thing here. In this case I would expect that rosarians from other parts of the world might find the video to be of interest. I ask because I once bought a DVD of a historic site in England to share with an interested family member back home. However when I got back I discovered that American DVD players would not play it. I had to buy a special regionless DVD player to do so. Rosefolly...See MoreSac Historic Cemetery Rose Garden under attack by City of Sacramento

Comments (6)Yes. it rained off and on, but it didn't dampen enthusiasm for the plant sale and the garden. We usually have 65 people in line for the roses before the rope is cut. This year, it was 80! We sold all but 30 roses and some companion plants. We had 300 people, slightly down from previous years. They didn't linger nearly as long - the rose hotel didn't have much business! - but there were soggy smiles all around. A very successful day, all things considered....See Moreoldrosarian
