Wahhhhhh!!!! I want a camera. Susan, these are fabulous. I'm one who began with hosta. I strayed into other obsessions (see Do You Collect Other Things on the 2nd or 3rd page of this board), which I enjoyed. However, there was an emptiness in my heard and gardens, where foliage did not abound. However, through help, medication, and some good sense, I've returned to one of my first, very true loves: The Fabulous Hosta. Last night I won a 'Black Hills.' I hooted and howled. My husband asked blankly, "Didn't you say you have hosta coming out of your ears?" After much sobering thought, I replied, "Yes, I did. However, there is always room in my nose. Oh, and beside the Albo marginata, and between the Hellebore and 'Carmel' Heuchera over there...." He shook his head and said, "Knock Your Bad Self OUT!" I am grateful to for my enabling husband who truly doesn't give a tinker's d@mn. Hosta cost less than Japanese Maples or other shrubs and trees. (Or so he thinks. Shhhhh!) So know, dear, you are not alone. Never, ever again will you wander the earth clutching pots of hosta that only you and a few select others understand. Never again will you have to explain that yes, you already have "a" hosta, but you don't have that hosta. Only to receive blank, confused, sideways looks as you expound on your gorgeous 'Silk Kimono' vs. Kabitan, for example. Never again. And don't stray. It causes a huge surge in hosta purchasing as you try to make up for all the wasted time when you could have been acquiring and trading HOSTA! I'm glad to have come ... home. I would not recommend Samsung. Friends of my sister had serious trouble with a Samsung. Several months of battling delays on parts and repeated unsuccessful repair attempts to the point they settled for a reimbursement deal on the extended warranty contract. They used my spare refrigerator from 7/6/2012 through 9/13/2012, which was after one or more of the repair attempts.

I visited the UC Berkeley garden often when I lived in Sacramento and it's one of my all-time favorite gardens, but at that time the Sacramento Cemetery Garden did not exist, and I would imagine it and the San Jose Garden would be fine to visit at this time of the year.

Without checking I think there are lesser volume(s) with reproductions of selected roses from the original Willmott around, I saw what I remember as being something like this at a local Half Price Books this year for instance. If you read about it her gardening at what I remember as being called Warley Place was so extravagant she eventually had to pack up and move away because so much money was being spent on it. Important people from all over the world came to see it, including ones that weren't necessarily that keen on gardening. Another bit I remember is that she supposedly used to patrol her planting of something like 50,000 daffodil bulbs wearing a pistol at flowering time. The property still exists as a house and grounds and I think is open to the public. But is nowhere near the spectacle it once was.

Ok, ok here is the post I made on the What To Do With My Strep thread:

Alright everyone,,,,fessing up here about the Ann Arbor Sale this past Saturday. First and foremost I had a great time being there with my club (Wayne/Washtenaw) and also seeing the gang from the other group Town and Country!!!! Loved talking with customers, talking about violets, our two groups, and our upcoming Sale (in October).

OH and if anyone should come, we have a club member, Becky, who gives a presentation at each sale on starting a leaf from scratch! How awesome is that?!? And a lady walked in and said she came last year and didn't know too much about growing a violet and she attended the presentation and learned so much that she just had to tell us!!!! So another club member took her to the room where the presentation was and had her tell Becky in front of the people attending kind of like a testamonial. She was so happy to tell Becky how successful she was, and I am sure Becky was happy to have that information!!!!! Congrats Becky!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok,,,,,,now to give you the information you seem to want! No sense taking pix, I bought LEAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!! And here is what I bought:

Broadway Star/Opt. Juliana/Princess Trail/Ramblin' Amethyst/Mac's Rouge Rogue/Bashou/PT Anzhelika/LE Delskaia Ulybka/ Cherokee Trail/Biscayne Trail/EK Socialite/Mag's Standing Ovation//Lavender Magic/Amour Elite/Carolina Elegant Affair/Episcia Pink Petite (OK,,,this was a plant!)/Episcia KeeWee (large amount in baggie/Episcia Chocolate Velour (large amount in baggie)/Strep Dale's Polar Ballet (I know,,,I didn't learn my lesson from Strep Dale's Polar Lava!!!!)/Miniature Begonia Prismatocarpa (again,,,a plant).

So now you have it. No violet plants. Just an Episcia Pink Petite plant and Begonia Prismatocarpa plant.

Maybe our next sale I will buy plants. Maybe. It's possible! I am happy with everything!!!! Rosie
