Help! Question about painting pvc pipe for garden markers!
Comments (14)I haven't painted PVC, although I've used it to make gates for our pony's fences. I've seen many examples of painted pvc, in trellises and other projects. Mostly I just wanted to add my own 'bless you' to concretenprimroses and grannytoo for your efforts to help the homeless. Worthy efforts indeed!...See Morehow to you repair lawn springer PVC pipe? Coupling won't fit!!!
Comments (7)Jaansu, I live in a small town in Oregon. The nearest Lowes is twenty miles away---and their stock is often not very good and is usually in a mess. (They don't neaten it up, and things can be in other bins or on other shelves than where it should be.) Anyway, my local hardware store had a 3/4 inch coupling (around three bucks) that I had to get just a day or two ago. Anyway, the moral of the story is just that you should be able to find it locally. Just go to another hardware store and tell them that you want a repair coupling and tell them what it is for. Be sure to check the size of your pvc pipe before you go. (Don't ask me how I knew to say that!)...See MoreHow to repair broken pvc sump pump drainage pipe near sidewalk?
Comments (6)IF you are not equipped to chip away sidewalk concrete, and IF you need a patch that will be good for only a few years, you can sleeve the break INSIDE with a piece of PVC with a wide enough slit in it to allow it to close/compress down just enough to slip inside. Glue it to death. Keep in mind this is a ridiculous patch but it's one that will work, especially outdoors away from your house. Secondly, if I read this right and can assume that a 4" drain is huge for your pump, you could dig into the lawn just a little bit, reduce the outer lengths of the sump line to a 3" pipe, shove a 3" pipe into the broken sidewalk tube, and Bob's your uncle!...See MoreHow long do PVC DWV pipes last?
Comments (2)PVC lifespan is indefinite. The only thing that could cause problem with PVC is use of nasty chemicals which could burn/melt the plastic or incorrect slope or standard blockage which should be snaked out. If you have problems with the line I would recommend a plumber scope it to determine what needs to be done and condition of the pipe. There may be a different type of pipe underground past the PVC that is causing your problems....See Morekudzu9
