So much work out there this Spring

I probably say this every Spring, the older I get, but this Spring I have never seen so many leaves and debris in the beds and in every nook and cranny. And I do Fall cleanup. During that really bad wind storm a month ago, I witnessed leaves literally "flowing" across the field from the farm over the way just like a rushing tide, towards my house, hedge, and garden. Never saw anything like it. Most all of it oak leaves. Wave after wave. There is probably not a leaf left on their property! ha I wish I had taken video.

Anyway, as we know oak leaves don't break down as quickly as others, so I see much raking in my future. I was tempted to start this afternoon, but reminded myself to stay out of the beds as much as possible for awhile yet. That's a fib, as I did pull a bit of bright green, healthy looking shot weed. ugh. It's in bloom already - and there's a lot of it. No matter how much I pull every season, it doubles the next. Those seeds "shoot" everywhere I know.
