Tiling over gap in plywood subfloor around toilet drain?
Comments (3)How about a piece of 5/8 in. plywood glued in each spot. Guess it would depend on what size gap. My dad laid floors for years when I was a kid. He never used anything but what was used as underlayment. Need to be firm as someone step on a Duct tape job & it would probably crack & break. If that other stuff has any spongyness to it same thing would happen....See MoreAnyone use filler to close the gap around refrigerator cabinet?
Comments (10)Thank you everyone for their responses! For those that provided pics, your fridges all look so integrated! I love them! breezygirl: The width is 39" wide because if it was narrower, the left side of the cabinet would be too far from the "virtual" edge defined by the left side of the wall that the cabinets are mounted on. Interestingly enough, there's actually more room to accomodate a 42" fridge if the left side of the cabinet is moved out to the left by 3 inches. fori: The cabinets are framed, although the overlay amount is quite narrow in some places. How would this change the filler design? weedmeister: The specs on my fridge appear to require only 1/4" on each side (actually zero on one side, 1/4" on the other, so on average 1/8" per side) itsallaboutthefood: Your situation is similar to mine in that I need to "close" about 3 inches of space. How much space did you actually end up leaving on each of the sides? Nice rice cooker by the way.. I have something similar.. :) Should I leave 1/4 inch on each side? Or should I leave 1/2 inch? What do you guys think?...See MoreIdeas needed-I have a gap above new counter depth fridge
Comments (9)Unless you are going to be living with this kitchen another 10 years and will be selling it at a 100K discount as a gut reno, the correct solution IS to replace like with like. You don't usually see SubZeros in suburban tract homes, so unless that was the case and the PO was a bit eccentric in that way, your kitchen is best served by having the level of appliances replaced with the level that is already installed. Anything less, and yes, you are downgrading the kitchen and that's a road you don't want to start going down if you want to keep up the value of your home. Even with the real estate market trending downward, there's always further down to go if a buyer feels that the home may not have been "kept up". A non built in in a built in's hole gives them more opportunity to think this was the case....See MoreFill gap around pergola post with mastic/sealant?
Comments (4)Joseph, thanks. Just to make sure we’re on the same page - if I pull those trim pieces off, there’s a 1/2 gap around the post between the post and cement. Are you saying it percolate down and out by leaching through the 2x2x2 cement footer? The red lines are the outline of the 6x6 post. Thanks...See More- 5 years ago
