Mulch layer working wonders!
Comments (5)Last night, after I got home from the Farmers Market, I put out another 6 beds of mulch in about 30-40 minutes. The sun was going down fast, but the chance of rain was going up too! I have 3 more beds, but I am almost out of drip tape. I probably can get one in, but that is all. I will just have to reuse some tape to finish the last two beds. I might try to get that done tonight. Now I just need to start planting! Jay...See MoreAny recommendations for a lighted, magnifying cosmetic mirror?
Comments (3)I have a SimpleHuman sensor mirror. The first one wouldn't recharge, so I exchanged it for another (free). They offer a 5 year warranty. I don't use the sensor function, because the mirror sits in a window and I only need light when it's dark out. It's easier for me to press the on button. Comments (101)I thought it sounded like a lot of filler too. I've got a call in to Dr. D's office to clarify a few things. I know nothing about fat transfer, but will do some research. Dr. D did tell me that the area on my face that is starting to slightly jowl is not as a result of saggy skin, but I have excess fat in that area and due to other parts of my face on which gravity is taking its toll, the jowling is taking on more of a prevalent look. I don't know if I should be pleased to know that it's not just saggy skin but a fat face that I have! LOL!...See MoreCosmetic ways of hiding the top of the liner
Comments (5)Thanks for the advise, Chas! That shelf you're talking about is what I really wish I'd had the foresight to build in the beginning. If I had then I would be able to take rocks below the waterline and make it look a lot more natural, which is what it looks like you did. But at this point I'd have to do a complete tear down and start over to get there :-( I've taken your advise on the plants, though, to see how it works out. I have a lot of English ivy growing in my yard, and it seems pretty indestructible, so I've planted a bit of it around and tried to weave it in strategically. I also have some ground cover nearby whose name I can't remember (something-rose?), so I've tried sticking it in places and see how it does. Inside the pond, after this picture, I already have two long reed-type grasses, two water lilies, one potted plant that stays under the water but is pretty big (Amazon sword, maybe?), and a lot of parrot grass, so I don't think there's a lot of room for more in the water. Give everything a few weeks to take root and for me to get some new mulch, and hopefully I'll post back with an updated photo :-D...See MoreHalloBlondie (zone5a) Ontario, Canada
