What's a good floor material for unheated sunroom?
Comments (3)Oops, sorry, I saw your thread title on this forum, didn't realize it was for a sunroom. After I posted I started thinking about cork? My great-aunt had a cork kitchen floor for decades... I don't know about the typical 3/4" T&G (prefinished?) flooring, if that's what you're thinking about. I would think with the temp and humidity swings (well below freezing in winter, up in 90's and humid in summer) that a wood floor you would normally use inside would check, buckle, split. Comments (2)The vapor barrier is supposed to keep warm, moist air from hitting a cool surface and condensing. In cool climates, the warm air is usually on the inside and the cold is on the outside. Therefore, you would want the vapor barrier on the inside. Conversely, in hot climates, the warm air is typically on the outside and the cooler air conditioned air is on the inside. Comments (2)Do you in general need more storage? I like the idea of a reading room, so bookcases with cupboards beneath, perhaps with a "window" seat space in the middle (though I know there's no window on that back wall). Or just space to hang a lovely painting between bookcases. Plus chairs and ottoman/coffee table as suggested above. Plants for sure....See MoreCarolina Kitchen & Bath
