Exterior BORING, need help to improve curb appeal!
Comments (9)Love the house. Will the new roof be gray? Lots of color options with gray roofs. Is the brick shown all of it? If so, I'd probably remove it since it's not adding much interest. I don't have color recs for the gray siding. You just have to get sample cans to test some out. Personally, I wouldn't go too dark. A soft, dove gray would be pretty with white trim. Tons of options for door color, including red. Your shutters are actually too small for the double windows. Each shutter should be half the window's width. Up to you but a wide trim around the windows would be another choice. One thing you might think about is a garage door with windows across the top that mimic the panes in your other windows. Would be really nice....See MoreExterior design help! any recommendations how to improve curb appeal
Comments (7)As Beth said, move the cars and take photos that scan the entire width of the property. Stand on the public sidewalk approximately opposite the front door and take a series of photos without moving from one place. Start facing the left property line and rotate your body to take a series of slightly overlapping photos that goes across the front of the house and any associated front landscaping until you get tot the left property line. Being able to see The Who front of your property will give us more to work from and get you more helpful suggestions. Comments (9)At long last I think we have decided on our palette: SW Alabaster - on Siding, Foundation, Garage doors, Trim; SW Pavestone - Shutters; BM Wythe Blue - front door and back door. Shutter dogs, modern farmhouse exterior lights and hardware - black. I fell in love with this palette and after testing it on our house feel like it's a good fit. Comments (15)Shutters should appear to be operable, so they would need to be as wide as the window... so if closed, they would cover the window. So no shutters on your house. I agree with taking out the boxwood that have been butchered. If you take the bed all the way to the sidewalk, you need a pocket bed on the left side. Yes to learn more about pruning the Crepe Myrtle. Ever heard of Crepe Murder? It's a thing. LOL Honestly you don't even have to prune them. We had several over 30ft tall at our last house, but you don't want one too tall right next to the house. Having lived in the South all my life, I don't have a problem with the grass since we get rain. No idea where you live, but the grass looks healthy. Unless you want to spend every weekend gardening, or hire a gardener, I would not go to the extreme of removing the grass. If there room for a wooden bench on the front porch?...See Moregtcircus
