I checked and could not find a stainless steel version of the Brookfield on Kohler's site. You will probably end up having to go with a top mount sink. Maybe something like Kohler's low profile Vault will work? I'd suggest that you call Kohler and see what they have to say. 1-800-4Kohler

I have a stainless drop in. I don't understand all the talk of crud catching in the lip, I don't find that to be the case. Regular cleaning around the sink area every day makes that a non issue for me.Having never had an undermount sink I can't say, but it would seem to me that more crud would catch in that area than in a top mount. I've never dented a stainless sink, I would guess you'd have to drop something pretty heavy in it to dent it. I guess it depends on how thick your steel is? But I do hate the water spotting on the stainless. Everything has its trade offs I guess. For the most part I find the drop in stainless pretty tough and easy to care for.

We have always had Kohler cast iron drop-in sinks but want the undermount this time for easier maintenance. What do you think in regards to this idea when used in a granite island? We really haven’t liked the look of stainless or composite. Can anyone recommend a different manufacture? We will be putting a water softener system in which should help, we hope.

A 30" sink will undermount in a 30" cabinet if the sink is strapped, not clipped, in place no matter what the sink manufacturer says.
