Porcelain tiles (marble look and encaustic look), do they fade?
Comments (3)The tiles will last longer than the current style is popular. The colors are glazes fired into the tile, which become vitreous under heat. They are not an applied paint. I visit the MS coast frequently. There are still plenty of Katrina destroyed homes where only the slabs remain. 14 years later, sitting in the sun, the tiles still on them look like the day they were installed....See MoreAny 6 x12" Porcelain Tiles w/ Carrara Marble LOOK out there?
Comments (4)I search through an international site that lists many/most of the Italian and Spanish tile suppliers. 6x12 isn't a popular size. Here are some marble-look porcelain tiles that come in sizes that would work for herringbone, one also had a chevron cut. Scroll down each page for the size offered. This brand is sold in the US, but you would need to find who carries it locally. http://www.vallelungacer.it/collezioni/statuario/?lang=en http://www.vallelungacer.it/collezioni/dolomiti/?lang=en http://www.vallelungacer.it/collezioni/carrara/?lang=en...See MoreMarble look Porcelain floor - Satin finish
Comments (9)@joseph_corlett - Before calling someone else's viewpoint "Silly" you may have wanted to validate your position. It took me less than 1 minute to do a google search and find this abstract. "Abstract This study investigated the influence of flooring on subjective discomfort and fatigue during standing and on potentially related objective measures. Participants stood for 4 h on each of 7 flooring conditions while performing computer tasks. During the 3rd and 4th h, floor type had a significant effect on a number of subjective ratings, including lower-leg and lower-back discomfort/fatigue and 2 of 4 objective variables (center of pressure weight shift and lower-extremity skin temperature). In addition, lower-leg volumetric measurements showed tendencies toward greater lower-extremity swelling on uncomfortable floors. The hard floor and 1 floor mat condition consistently had the worst discomfort/fatigue and objective ratings. Significant relationships were noted between the affected subjective ratings and objective variables. In general, floor mats characterized by increased elasticity, decreased energy absorption, and increased stiffness resulted in less discomfort and fatigue. Thus flooring properties do affect low-back and lower-leg discomfort/fatigue."...See Moreporcelain hexagon tile that looks like marble?
Comments (1)I have a 6" hex porcelain tile with a marble look. It came from Lowe's. I can't for the life of me remember the name something like Grisle? Sorry, if you have a Lowe's it's a standard always in stock....See Moresushipup1
