Are you quilting this weekend? Nov. 16-18
Comments (10)Yes.....Most days begin in the sewing room, cuppa tea or coffee nearby. Occasionally my fluffy tortie cat shares the morning ritual. No noise other than birds outside (because that is when Dh fills the feeders) and the hum of the machine. Amazingly, although my mouth doesn't work for an hour after I awaken, my hands seem to and it's a pleasant routine. I usually knock off a block before I quit and meet the day. DH is taking a short trip out of town this weekend to visit family, and I suspect that shall mean a little more time to work on current Q.I.P. which is a deliberate attempt to bust some blue stash I've had put away. I didn't know I had that many blues until I organised my material. Last night I measured a quantity of crisp white cotton I inherited along the line, to discover I had a ten yard cut of it! I was wanting to make some sets of crisp white pillow slips for the beds and it was pleasant to find out I have the material onhand. I love the traditional cotton ones, starched crisp and ironed. I also have a stash of striped cotton pillow ticking, and half a dozen feather pillows who need the flimsy, old casing replaced with sturdy new ticking to bring them back to life....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Comments (8)Linda, I know what you mean! Our DIL is out of town for 3 days, so we have baby Charlotte while DS is at work. I love having her - we just play & play. I put the binding on a QOV for our local group last night so I can get it to the woman who will add the label and deliver it laster this month. Our church sent out a request for tied fleece blankets, so I will probably try to get 2 or 3 finished to take to church on Sunday. I also need to move more rocks ... hopefully the landscapers will get here on Monday to put the new front yard in after last year's front porch renovation destroyed the yard. Other than that, probably not much else sewing....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Sept. 15-16
Comments (12)I made a quilt for my great-nephew with glow in the dark StarWars fabric and it still glows a couple years later - not as bright, but it does have a glow. We got home yesterday from our mini-vacation to Allenspark, CO after our Myrtle Beach trip was cancelled thanks to Florence. ANYWAY, we had a great time with our neighbors who were supposed to travel with us. They have a family cabin just about 20 minutes outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. We actually saw a mama bear & cub - first time EVER - in the park. They walked very close to where we were standing. We learned how to play pickleball, too. That could be addicting! Last night I spent a little time working on the fan wedding quilt and will try to finish up the fans for the outside border border while I watch football. We have 3 more days of our scheduled "vacation" but we have already filled them with doctor appointments and watching our granddaughter! Sue...See MoreAre you sewing or quilting this weekend? Comments (5)No sewing for me. I finished Charlotte's apron and we have her overnight tonight. After church tomorrow our son & DIL will get back so we'll have brunch then open presents. (the big ones too big to take to Arizona on the plane!) We leave Tuesday and won't be back until late April, so not much sewing in my future - but I will be on the lookout for quilt shops!
